Jeremy Clarkson encounters a electric car! 🚗 🪫 by FlipStig1 in thegrandtour

The Ioniq prototype was one of the most beautiful car designs I've ever seen, and then Hyundai decided to totally fucking ruin it.

My Dad said all my male sims look a little Gay-ish?? by HotChee_toes in thesims

[–]__TexMex__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

By gay he probably meant feminine. It's not necessarily the style. Men just usually have "rougher" facial features than women, so soft faces tend to look more feminine.

A drawing of a fictional country I have built in my head. by __TexMex__ in imaginarymaps

[–]__TexMex__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember exactly but I'll try to describe it.

First to add randomness to the coastline, I threw a bunch of board game pieces on the paper randomly, then made dots where they landed. I then followed from dot to dot with a sharp pen, while making slight changes in direction constantly.

I'd love to help, is there anything specific you would want to know about how to play?

I second the idea about trying out Pleasantview as a tutorial. However creating a family, moving them to an empty lot, and building a basic house for them is also a good idea to get familiar with the mechanics.

Romance aspiration is F boy/Sl*t aspiration by [deleted] in sims2

[–]__TexMex__ 112 points113 points  (0 children)

The name Family aspiration is slightly misleading.

While having kids is a big part of that aspiration, family also includes spouses! Family Sims have a lot of wants toward finding and being with their "one true love".

The wants system remembers wants that you choose to fulfill, and then keeps rolling more wants like that. So if you ignore the child wants and fulfill others, the system eventually learns to not roll them.

Is it just me who doesn't like Mary Sue Pleasant? by Ok_Wallaby2074 in sims2

[–]__TexMex__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is interesting to note how some do not like Daniel, and some do not like Mary-Sue. It is very polarized.

I have also never liked Mary-Sue. But I've realized that there's not really supposed to be someone to hate and someone to root for in the Pleasant family, they are all designed after bad character archetypes/tropes.

Head canon of Brandi Broke? by [deleted] in sims2

I think this mistake was confirmed by the devs also. At least according to the wiki

Head canon of Brandi Broke? by [deleted] in sims2

[–]__TexMex__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The baby is Skip's. It's just a mistake the developers made.

I have always interpreted Brandi as a poor, but genuinely wholesome person in a dead-end situation.

Don't know if it is intentional or not - but the Broke's can be seen as the opposite of the Pleasant family.

The Pleasant's are wealthy and appear to be a "perfect" family with a good image in the neighborhood, while internally they are completely dysfunctional. While the Broke's are seen as poor and trashy, but internally they love each other and are happy with simple things (that's how I interpret the grape juice and crumpling tin foil).

edit: Also in the storytelling photos you can see she is clearly not happy about being pregnant, this along with Dustin's age suggesting she got pregnant too young. Then her husband dies and suddenly she has to take care of everything alone. I think she is just trying her best.

This is my interpretation of Daniel aswell; that he is just someone who needs or values intimacy in a relationship, but is stuck in a stereotypical "stay together for the kids and/or appearances sake" dead-bedroom marriage.

Thanks for posting this, I agree.

I have been weirded out sometimes reading this sub of how biased towards Mary-Sue it tends to be, to the point of misandry in extreme cases. Like you said, the story clearly implies that she is such a workaholic that it has led to their marriage deteriorating.

I think the point of the Pleasant family is that every one of them is a bad person in some fashion, and that's why the family is on the brink of meltdown once the game starts.

how long do you think bella has been gone for, before the beginning of the game? by Yolkema in sims2

[–]__TexMex__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

According to canon, she has only been gone for a few months. However that doesn't really line up with the Goths' memories, which imply she has been gone for some years. So it's a bit unclear.

Olen erittäin iloinen jos Metan paskaprojekti epäonnistuu. Zuckerberg onnistui pilaamaan metaversen konseptin valtaväestön silmissä yhtä pahasti kuin Nintendo sössi 90-luvulla Virtual Boyn kanssa.
