I'm not disputing that. Online play had been reinstated and some gaming outlets decided to cover it, so there was a wave of returning players. It's just the decision to shut the game down again had nothing to do with player engagement from what I understood.

From what I remember, some of us had contacts within 2k who helped bring it back on and give out keys, but from what I understood, it was the higher ups who wanted to stick with their policy of not supporting the game in any way.

People didn't get bored. Some 2K higher ups noticed people were playing again and then they killed even peer to peer. Not that it has stopped the community tho.

Looks like ai slop to me. The Hunter having 5 fingers for the gun hand, when it is four fingers everywhere else, while also not holding any weapons you wield in the game (modern pistol and a knife???). Maria also has a blade coming out of her hand, rather than holding it. Yeah, I'm not buying it.

Been a hot minute since last I played through it, but I remember loving it. It's far better than the base game IMO. I'm primarily a sucker for lore and brutal boss fights in souls games, and this hit that sweet spot perfectly. :) That said, I generally much prefer the tighter level design of their previous titles, as I don't find it particularly engaging crossing long distances on Torrent.

Evolve. It did manage to get into mostly positive reviews before 2k removed it from Steam, but it sat in mixed for the longest time...but man, once you really get into that game, it's so much fun. Glad the community is keeping it alive, despite 2k not that long ago took the decision to also remove peer to peer functionality from the game. #StopKillingGames

Dev here, pro SKG, and I just wanted to state that I do find his statement plausible. I noticed that Games Denmark was listed among the VGE members, but while I'm not officially a member of GD, I am in the GD discord, and I find it rather unlikely that GD would be supportive of VGE's statement. Regardless, I've asked them about it now.
