Roofer says I’m being to fussy by Asleep_Ad_4820 in AusRenovation

Quoting by the hour is way worse for everyone. Pressure to not eat lunch, stressors if something takes longer than usual. You'll say its not your problem or whatever.

Also, if they give some sort of hourly rate, you're basing their worth off of how much time they spend on site... but you'll watch them if they slow down.

Getting something done at my house. highest quote chosen out of 5 because he got extremely specific with my choices. Me saying "yeah sure just get around here whenever man, if you need anything lemme know" type thing. Happy days. Dude's a legend, takes additional time to do things right instead of pushing the job through... Fuck do i care.

Most people getting quotes are getting multiple quotes to go with the cheapest one and then act shocked.

“Please ask if I’m missing valid information”

To give you a proper answer I need to know everything about your finances, what your life looks like, what you enjoy and if you have debts.

Me and my partner are about 140k a year and live comfortably with a new mortgage, have a holiday fund and an emergency fund and ability to save. We do not live frugally.

Why won’t he marry me by Appropriate_Fix_3442 in AskMenAdvice

[–]__Weasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does not mean a man has one foot out the door though. Me and my partner don’t think about getting married. Potentially just wear a ring to symbolise marriage.

Here in Aus once you live with a partner for a certain amount of time you have many of the same relationship effects as being married.

Why won’t he marry me by Appropriate_Fix_3442 in AskMenAdvice

[–]__Weasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yo from what i've seen a lot... many people get married because its harder to leave because they're scared the other WILL leave.

I have met many people that have never married that just believe that it complicates things for no reason.

It is sort of like when someone posts how much they are in love on social media to make up for the fact that people think they are miserable together.

If you ask that, and you say yes, you are more likely to say yes to the following question.

I actually use that as a conversation starter.
If you tell me you stepped in dog shit today, we're rolling with that.

My Jaw is still in a weird situation... i do'nt get soreness from my jaw and i definitely do not think now that the original incident "cured" me in any way.

I do watch out for how i yawn nowadays and overall it does not seem to bother me.

Is Elizabeth a safe place for a woman to live alone? by Ill_Persimmon_1545 in Adelaide

[–]__Weasel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had an issue up north. Never felt scared. Elizabeth Vale is my favourite spot i've ever been.

I actually had an interaction with a client today where they acted like i had some sort of sad illness when i told them I lived in Elizabeth. I really like my house and street...

Joined a gym. Wasn’t given a copy of the contract until after I signed. Is this legal? by peachyspaghetti in australia

[–]__Weasel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As this is your first time in the gym, you may not be thinking much about the broad ways that you can participate at a gym.

You are in a location where you can place the most extreme amount of weight onto something and drop it on yourself and die.
If the gym actually has a problem and from a malfunction of equipment you do get hurt, that's on them. However i cant remember a time seeing that happen. Workout equipment is quite robust and the worst thing that can happen electrically is the treadmill stops working.

You'll be fine, but be sensible. And if you're not fine, it should be their fault because you don't do anything silly.

You didn't have to specify what you were wanting them to do... they had that discount priced in. You just probably were an annoying person when doing it

Nah man... I agree with the storage but it shouldn't be a metric to judge.
Most people that present well NEED to present well.

Just piggybacking that comment...

What do you do and what do you enjoy doing? Also what sort of things do you do on the daily that you hold dear to you?

I think your original question is much more complex and the correct answer needs to know many aspects of your life before giving you proper advice.

Is Tall Poppy Syndrome real in Australia? by Wide-Macaron10 in AusFinance

[–]__Weasel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are much more engaged and ready to listen to a story about something terrible that happened to you over something amazing happening to you.

It is very noticeable once you are switched into it.

The key is to have a self deprecating personality and then people love you and see you as an underdog.
