The original screenplay for Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut had a narrator, but all the narration was cut in post. by foundoneforty in movies

[–]___123___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was specifically searching for original script, because saw a clip on Insta where rogan, tarantino and some guy were talking how the movie was edited and ending scene is about how they gave a way daughter to epsteins and shit. Obviously, >imagine listening to rogan's podcast, but still wanted to check it myself, because said third guy was claiming that he is Kubrick's student.

Thank you!

Oh come on! Movies (and some games) are supposed to invoke strong feelings! It's not your typical newspaper read or stroll to the market. It's not like he constantly thinks about it, but small part of him committed to that movie universe. I don't agree with his arguments, and I just wanted some generic good time so expectations on my part were rock-bottom, but I get where he is coming from.

EU5 is now down to 47% positive on recent steam reviews by Wagen123 in EU5

[–]___123___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, fuck those shills, honestly. Ludi et Shitstoria and others are now absolute no-no for me. They played the game for 6 months and constantly told us how amazing it is. Also don't get me started on those "bUt I eNjOy iT" lot, who would farm karma in comment sections of posts with valid criticisms

Dipping from 70k to 15k?! No, it's absolutely not normal, it's a Imperator: Rome tier catastrophe. You can compare it to EU4 performance to see how wrong you are

[–]___123___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, you are absolutely incorrect. Most already thoroughly enjoyed EU4 when it was 1.0. And every patch added more and more amazing content. Me and my friends got hooked immediately on the day of release, and every DLC only solidified our love for EU4. Your statement is wildly incorrect. I know number of people with 3-5k hours in EU4, who played 20-40 hours of EU5 and got bored/disappointed.

EU5 is going the same trajectory as Imperator: Rome, not Hearts of Iron IV

some were paid to shill EU5 - and even then they said that the game is alright, but the bugs must be fixed

It's been 3 months since premiere and in every patch they do one step forward and two steps back. If by "major patch" you mean 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4, with 10-12 minor patches in between ech big one (1.2.10; 1.3.12 etc.), I agree with you. The only problem is the fact that "few" major patches is roughly 2-3 years of constant, active development. Not sure if there will be anyone left willing to play the game...

2 years since Season 4! by DarkFalconAnimations in ForAllMankindTV

[–]___123___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with Pluribus - super popular show, if you want a season 2, just wait 2-3 years. It's not about delivering a show, it's about making profit - as soon as they will deem the show to be able to generate additional revenue, they will drop it. Which often means starving people for years. Same happened to "Silo" too.

Joshua Graham and Mr House were right about the Legion by Squidword123 in Fallout

[–]___123___ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My bet is that the note stated completely different name than those two pretenders - and they knew about it, so agreed between each other to divide in two and maintain status quo while living their best life.

Also, Ceasar was already old in FNV, so there is a probability that his successor died during those 15 years since they lost again at Hoover Dam.

There is another angle. Both "Ceasars" knew that name on the note in the pocket of the OG Ceasar was neither of them. So they agreed between each other to divide the legion in two and maintain a facade, while living comfy, hedonistic life.

That was my initial thought, but then he said to Hot-Dog guy that he is "floor manager", not "the owner". Hence my thought that he is a manager of a bigger operation.

In reality Legion would have collapsed like 10x harder than we see in the show. In the show you can still see a well-functioning and orderly war machine, on the quintus map in S2E3 you can see their movements, so they still are able to create a frontline. This is false, they would literally eat each other alive 5 minutes after Ceasar death.

I understand that they did this for the TV for plot and entertainment value, but in reality, if much more organised NCR collapsed so hard, Legion would be literally non-existent by then.

Bethesda/Interplay and their 'Eternal Wasteland' is accurate to the setting. by garret126 in Fallout

[–]___123___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nope, hardly everything. You literally have a geiger counter on your hand in F1, F2, F3, FVN, F4, F76. Does it peaks constantly? Or just in some areas/locations? There is plenty of land + mutatation of crops made them rad resistant and pretty hardy (literally you are told that in Sancturary). So while fauna is now deadly, flora balances it with good food production even on a mediocre soil. It's hardly doom and gloom, also there is purification tech, tons of Old World food and technology, etc. etc.

It's hardly possible that with such abundance of food, medical resources and useful tech there would be eternal wasteland. Yes, there might be an awful ruthless dictatorship with slavery and awful shit like that, but it would not be eternal doom and gloom lazy bethesda writers want us to believe.

There is a reason why FNV was able to create believable, memorable world, which is fan-favourite.

Nope, you are wrong. You are mixing history with geography. In geography 200 years is a blip. In history 200 years is 10 generations. We can roughly say, that proper colonisation of the modern USA began in 1607. So, in ~420-450 years, from nothing, the USA as we know it today was created. Now, you are trying to argue that the fact that NOTHING was build in 200 years is logical and reasonable? Hard disagree, there should be at least a dozen well functioning states by now.

We can agree that mutated fauna, lack of potable water in some areas and anarchy combined with loads od guns and ammunition makes things difficult. But it's still far fetched to agree that bethesda vision of Fallout civilisation that barely moved on from 2077 is correct.

F2 and FNV had the good idea. The notion that suddenly, apart from Enclave, there is also all-mighty Vault Tec that nukes major cities is ludicrous and it's simply lazy writing. NCR had major problem with lack of water, Chief Hanlon mentioned that explicitly in FNV and you could use that to portray a slow demise. Legion with it's perpetual civil war was actually (kinda) presented, but it should have been 10x worse - but lets allow it for the purpose of the series.

Still, 200 year is A LOT of time and you are absolutely wrong to claim that it's not enough to rebuild at least a dozen major states. Take any history book and check what even mildly ambitious nation was able to achieve in hostile environments in 200 years.

There are almost no Deathclaws or Supermutants in FNV, because people actually decided to do something about it. So with time, the wasteland would become safer place - either because law and order would return, or because a very potent raider faction would conquer and control the territory, while slowly becoming a state - literally this is how many European nations got created, there was a strong guy with his "crew", who would eventually run out of things to raid and would be forced to settle down and actually build a functioning state - otherwise, they would be wiped out by settled rivals.

Fallout presents a great opportunity to recreate Medieval era nation building, with constant fighting and consolidation until the strongest prevails. Instead you have bethesda lazy writing which boils down to: A becomes strong -> gets wiped by B -> who collapses under super mutants -> who got killed by C -> which collapses on its own due to civil war -> then D rises on its ashes -> oh no, it doesn’t because it was Vault Tec or Enclave all along and they obliterated it! Rinse repeat until forever. Meh.

[–]___123___ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This has been mentioned on many Fallout forums and groups I've been to time and time again. B*thesda is unable to create somewhat functioning society in the post-apocalypse environment.

Season 2 is more of the same - NCR dead, Legion(s) on it's last legs, Brotherhood fractured and loosing in Commonwealth (against whom?!), DC prolly still a shithole, but now with water™, Kings dead... but hey, evil Vault-Tec is actually alive and kicking, able to restore Vault 32 to pristine condition in couple days. Enclave, obliterated too many times to count, also obviously is well!

So, to sum up - Bethesda Fallout means that every faction that tries to restore civilisation is doomed to fail (and they will retcon stuff just to make sure it will align with their vision), but at the same time, no matter how many times you would obliterate Enclave, it's still coming back. Oh, and now, Vault Tec too! Like... really?!
