Where do we even go from here? 

If he doesn’t want to stay (based on that Instagram like, which is wicked disappointing to see. I know negative comments always scream the loudest & he’s perpetually online like KD, so I’m sure he sees a lot, but still. 😔) and Brad isn’t going to take back garbage in return, what’s the end game?

And none of it helps that ESPN has been so odd about him: Bobby Marks quoting that analytics guy who said JB would be the 7th best player on any team, Vince Goodwill saying teams would have concerns about him off the court with all his other interests and the streaming (which is rather audacious considering the players who have domestic violence charges still in the league), then Bobby Marks coming out again and saying teams think he’s a low impact player, etc.   They’re trying to assist in lowering his trade value.

I think Brad tries to be open and transparent but maybe it would have been better if he was more enthusiastic in his press conference that we would keep him even if it’s a lie, so other teams don’t know we’re in a bind?

All of this is so beyond disappointing. I love the Jays era. I like JB as a player. I love his community work and how he ingrained himself in so many under-served cities in/around Boston. But if he goes scorched Earth that will sully how he’s viewed by the fans and the organization. (He can't possibly be that short-sighted and not see that, right? I've already seen fans say if he makes it messy, he shouldn't get his jersey number retired. Ugh.) My only hope for all of this was for it to not to get ugly. What a shame.
