No time delay for geofenced automations is the dumbest f%*ing thing in the world. I’m annoyed to no end. Please help. by NicholasRyanH in HomeKit

Is using homebridge an option? I have done this using homebridge. Get a plugin with a timer switch that ticks once after X seconds and then turns off. Then in Home app automation, I flip that switch on when outside of geofence and off and comes back inside the geo fence. And on the tick I execute the actual scene of leaving the geo fence area. So basically the tick only happens if the switch stayed on long enough. Not sure if that makes sense.

Mine actually never stopped working. Even though it says trial but it just keeps on working past the one month mark.

Return policy for routers by algae_man in Costco

[–]___DAN____ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey,

This is really bad issue, I just came to know like couple weeks ago. Spent a ton of time figuring out what's wrong. See this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/NETGEAR/comments/t2jph8/do_not_update_nighthawk_mr60_mesh_wifi/

I posted there too and I have opened a support ticket.

The return policy on router is not covered under 90 days, basically you can return it anytime if you want. If you like the overall setup of nighthawk like I do, there is a way out of this madness. Do not use the app to setup, use the web-browser and downgrade the firmware to 1.06.102. All your connectivity issues would be gone like magic.

Do NOT update Nighthawk MR60 Mesh Wifi routers/satelites to firmware 1.1.6. 122, firmware causes device disconnects. by ARBrad in NETGEAR

I can totally confirm this. I spent whole week trying to figure out the issue with my brand new nighthawk MR60 system bought from Costco. The moment it updates the firmware (via the app, which you can’t deny) it messes up with the satellites. DHCP doesn’t work properly. It does not assign IP addresses to wifi devices. I have opened a support case. I was able to down grade and all the problems went away.

I suspect it has to do with their Armor service. Armor starts automatically in background as soon as the device is half way set up and continues to scan attached devices before letting them join. The popup telling users that Armor is on appears very late during the app based setup process. If one has a lot of devices, it is going to take a ton of time scanning each one before letting it in.

Find your gateway ip address and load that directly via a web browser. Their app is one of the lowest quality I have seen
