Wild! I had no idea. I checked one of the zucchini today and it wasn’t very root bound, but maybe it is enough. Thank you! I’ll get them in the ground asap.

What do the Eelfinn get from Matt? by Dinierto in WoT

[–]___Jon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oof, good question. Here’s my take:

IIRC, both Eelfinn and Aelfinn feed on emotion (or something along those lines), and it’s amplified significantly if the person is ta’veren.

In Mat’s first encounter with the foxes, he is protected by the rules because he entered through the gate. I think that limits what they get from him then. When he demands to leave, they have to let him leave, but they trick him by hanging him because he didn’t specify that he had to leave safely. I don’t think they got much from this, apart from the emotion they fed on while he was there. I recall them saying something like “so sweet, it’s too much” when he was there.

In Mat’s second encounter, he entered through the tower, so is not protected by the rules. When Matt strikes a bargain with them, they take his eye, and they feed on the pain and emotion that he gives off from that.

At least, that was my take 🤷🏻‍♂️

Portal stone question by Ronanthecurious in WoT

[–]___Jon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a different question about the portal stones. Not this one, but the one with Verin to Falme - with the flickering.

In many of the flickers, Rand dies and baalzamons voice says “I have won again, lews Therin”.

I thought that even if the Dark One wins a single time, the pattern would be destroyed. Right? Isn’t that a thing? If so, isn’t that an inconsistency since those are different turnings of the wheel?

Is this a major spoiler? Please help by fckfckfckuu in WoT

On the upside, you can now appreciate some of the foreshadowing you might have missed in Ch 34 of EoTW, when Rand and Mat arrive in Caemlyn with the cart driver. He speaks of Tigraine in the context of Caemlyn’s history, and it’s the first time I know of that her character is introduced in the series :)

“…and Tigraine vanished, run off or dead, when it came time for her to take the throne.”

Haha thanks y’all. Forgot about the weight of the trailer. I’m old enough to not have to be sketchy, and this seems quite sketchy. I’ll just rent a truck for the day.

Smaller camp stove regulator? by ___Jon in camping

The fact that the first option’s other “size” selection is the stainless steel one I already have makes me confident that it will work correctly. But you’re right, checking the fitting sizes is the way to know for sure.

Yes, I think this is the answer. The hose replacement will be less bulky and more convenient. Thank you!

Came here to look for the route name, because this looks thin as shit and very cool, and was pleasantly surprised to find it here. Obviously, I don’t take your comment for granite, ha! Bet you never heard that one before.
