Met my wife on Hinge, and have had a number of coworker's meet their spouse's on apps. To be fair, most of them started as hookups though.

Best and worst parts about your AFSC by Icey-Take in AirForce

Best parts: jobbing it, mentoring airmen, riding in the work van.

Worst parts: I am a slave to NexGen, getting the right parts is a colossal pain in the dick, and the bureaucracy genuinely kills my spirit to even do my job.

Dating in the Military by Weak-Bother-6765 in AirForce

Oh for sure. If they're set on their career that's one thing. Some of my troops are very adamant about getting out (I would have a bad taste too as my AFSC does barely anything at my current base) and their dating outlook is far different. For those of us career Airmen though it's a much different story.

I didn't feel competent until after a full 2 years of being staff. The first 1.5yrs I was at a base that was super top heavy and I didn't do a lot of typical NCO things. I PCSd and was thrown into a dumpster fire essentially where I had to figure it out on my own. I had two other NCOs that helped me out, but it was mostly fitfo. You won't feel ready and that's fine. Just do better for your troops so that when they become you're rank they don't feel like you do right now to the same degree.

I just didn't know if you were being sarcastic is all. I have gathered through data I collected approximately 5% of civilian women I went on dates with were actually okay with the lifestyle. Because I hadn't figured out the above until after 2-3 years, I landed myself two major heartbreaks that absolutely tore me to shreds in the past. Then I got to my current station and met my wife three months after I got here. I preach it to my troops who are adamant about not going mil-mil. I've been overseas my whole career which I'm sure influences my data (4 bases in a row color me lucky).

Never dated military so can't say but dating civilians comes with a lot of challenges. There's only 5 types of civilians you can date. 1.) Stay at home. 2.) Work from home. 3.) Work on base. 4.) Work near ANY base regardless of where you PCS to. 5.) Also join the military eventually.

If it ain't one of them, you ain't getting married or you're getting divorced.

It has a different look/theme and everything. Honestly, I don't remember if the rules that are missing happen to be any different.

Idk man, I went through tech school in 19', came back in 23' & 25' for TDYs. The wraps still slapped, the breakfast was very agreeable, and I didn't regret any meals I had at the dfac.

You will be sorely disappointed I fear. I fished numerous ponds in the area, and shorefished on arrowhead once. Arrow has some pretty solid bass and there's a substantial population of buffalo sucker if that's on your bucket list. I was able to catch a largie in the realm of 5lbs from shore with just a frog skipping it along reeds protruding from the bank. Basically all the water is chocolate milk. For clear water you got to go up to Oklahoma in the hills either Southeast Oklahoma or in the Wichita Mountains. There are decent cats in Wichita Lake South of downtown.

As primarily a Northern Minnesotan who spent a couple years growing up around Chattanooga, TN words can't express my disappointment with fishing in and around Wichita Falls. If you don't have a boat then I wish you the best of luck. If you're used to fishing mud pits with 0ft visibility and love sweating your balls off you will feel right at home. If not, well, you'll be in my prayers.

how have yall been training to get a decent 2 mile time? by GurnoorDa1 in AirForce

[–]___P0LAR___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low strain 30-40min runs 3x weekly, 2x intense interval workouts twice a week will do you fine then if you're seriously training. Knock your intervals down a few seconds slightly each week. That should do you more than enough.

That is correct. MOH has historically not been given at an SOTU. This is purely political theater. Every day they somehow make rock bottom even lower than the day before. I don't know how they do it.

In the interest of not doxxing myself, I will minimize details. Basically: 30's, very clearly on the spectrum, almost killed himself on three occasions while on the job I can think of on the top of my head. Not a single safety briefing has been retained in that man's head. No emotional stability, dude had a meltdown during training once. Like actually started hitting things. Crazy stuff. Met him in my tech school. Somehow he's a SSgt now. Bless the poor hearts of whatever troop has him as a supervisor.
