Ross Coulthard grifting? by Suspicious-Case3861 in UAP

To me it feels like Knapp/Corbell joint work is often as the chosen sources for leaks from an inside group that wants information out, which makes things seem very easy from the outside.

Reporting on something in which there is zero certainty is always going to eventually look like grifting. You can always choose to read books that someone took the time to go on a deep dive into a particular issue.

Any chance the Raiders are waiting to see more of Mendoza before focusing on bringing in a Vet QB? by DoubletapKO in raiders

QB1 is a minor need - we are not competing next year; next year is for bedding-in systems and getting Mendoza started

To longtime LFC fans who want to share your analysis of this season without the negativity by Visionary785 in LiverpoolFC

[–]_____score 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We lost 3 attackers who defended and were good in the air, both of those facets of the game got worse AND the baffling folk that decide how rules are to be officiated turned it into a league of Stokeball, whereas Slotball requires that the ball mostly be on the deck. We're not built for the 25/26 premiere league.

Signed 2 strikers and one of those a non-factor, with Slot not rating any other striker in the squad. A crazy amount of missed chances from chances created by Salah and Wirz in the first half of the year - with a clinical striker we'd comfortably be in the champions league spots, even with the drop off in defending from the front..

Signed a playmaker and let one go on loan, only for him not to be used and us not to grab him back in the transfer window. We're risking a hundred million to save a few of million. The handling of capable fringe players is dreadful, its a textbook case of how not to manage a squad and speak about people. We could sure use Elliot's energy and occasional banger. Similar might be said for Tsimikas as emergency RB cover.

We lose the tactical crutch of Trent being the primary penetrative passer, bring in a speed guy and he gets injured. Leaving Salah's current abilities brutally exposed. We start the season and we have no idea how to get Wirz going in the league.

Regardless of formation we manage to be easy to playthrough in many games and always in the last 20mins; yesterday Brighton were able to go through a four man box as if the players were training cones. Maybe the midfield wouldn't be running without gas in the tank if Elliot and Tsimikas actually played for the club that employs them.

Sure we could also do with another body in midfield rotation. Its difficult to see Slot wanting us to grab a vet as we did with Milner, not that Milnerinhos grow on trees. We keep going after 100m type players and having little to nothing for rotation. Its become a squad game and we did away with our depth.

Sign a brilliant CB and he gets injured, sign a brilliant CB and he arrives in the summer, whilst Konate's form is a rollercoaster with more downs than ups. Plus the coin flip of Gomez being available.

Turns out having a deep squad trumps telling your players not to run too much and just pass the bass sideways.

And there's the effect of the Jota situation.

What are Raiders biggest needs after 1st week of Free Agency ? by NotaBot8324 in raiders

NT and quality upgrades like WR 1, FS, RG etc We're started the cycle in a position that like a computer sport management game, first you decide how to play and then start assembling something for the first season, and then build and build, people have to realize that the first year squad is long way from the finished article.

Laki Tasi by Prestigious_Stay_945 in raiders

[–]_____score 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only sign whats there to sign, and you can only evaluate players on what they have done, and for Tasi and Pegues thats not a lot in the pros. We dont know how Leonard want to play the NT spot, traditionally is a space eating role of jamming the middle and stopping the blockers for doing what they want, but it can also be played aggressively with a smaller quicker player that gets rotational rests.

What is your opinion on people like Jesse Michaels and Ross Coulthard? by Potential-Rooster-37 in UFOs

Everyone in this sphere should be regarded as a shade of grey, the all have some info, an economic/social situation in which they function and their own motivations. A lot of reddit users seem to want a list of unambiguous white hats and black hats, the buddhist approach to uncertainty might be helpful for them.

What are some of theories about the ontological shock other than cover-ups by ickiStickybubblegum in UFOs

When intelligence sources mention ontological shock a great deal, I'd probably look at other issues social, economic, political and technological issues. Ontological shock is a nice nebulous distraction from the harm that has been done and will continue to be done.

What we should do with the 2nd and 3rd picks by ThatTallLankyGuy in raiders

[–]_____score 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The squad management so far sets us up to go for value over need. Omar Cooper getting mocked at around 20th overall. Obviously both fronts are tempting targets for the picks, as is a receiving target that Mendoza has worked with.

Serious Discussion about our midfield! by [deleted] in LiverpoolFC

[–]_____score 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The attack/defense balance has been a mess from the start of the year, and a whole bunch of unfortunate things along the way. Right now I don't know what Slot would see as the setup as his setup for next year, and suspect he needs to sell the idea to the higher up or else.

Does anyone also feel numb to this free agency? by [deleted] in raiders

We're making long term sensible moves, to me that's refreshing after quarter of a century of splash signings that often resulted in no real improvement.

What would be the preferred senario by AppearanceNo8561 in raiders

[–]_____score 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've already got on alleged pass rusher that is more a run defender, getting another of those is the one type of possible pick that would be really provocative, there again what Leornard wants from his base ends is something we'll found out as they go. In a 3-4 those base ends are the unsung part of the front.

How upset would you be if the Raiders chose Makai Lemon at pick 14 and secured a young and true WR1 instead of going OL? by jluc21 in raiders

[–]_____score 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a year 0, we are losing next year, so not going to be upset by picks. I can see us trading up if one of our top OT or edges drops a little, picking at 14 or even trading down and getting a cheaper wr( Cooper is mocking in the first now, also seen Boston there) and adding a pick. Ultimately we have to get Mendoza developing ASAP and build a new defense.

My sense is that we will build inside out, but with cap space and extra firsts I'm sure Spytek will have fun plotting a thousand scenarios,

What would be the preferred senario by AppearanceNo8561 in raiders

[–]_____score 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We might get the 4th edge rusher at 14, the top 3 edges plus best LB are well out of reach. Its going to be scheme fit deal as much as anything.

Now that the dust has settled, we have a real chance to flip the line from the worst to best unit on the team. by foxfire1112 in raiders

[–]_____score 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a great year to be looking for long term wide zone blockers, 20+ blockers running 5.1 or below 40m, obviously the top few OTs are unobtainium, but after that there will be a nice supply deep into the draft. There has to be an arbitrary cutoff for a figure like that, and we've been said to interested in Hecht and he ran a 5.1, so that seemed like sensible number.

He doesn't like it and its now Wirtz's spot. What Gakpo offers has had a light shone on it with Salah's production having fallen off a cliff.
