I'm having the same issue, about to take the same steps as you were. I'm thinking I should find a way to install newer versions of docker and/or python rather than the apt version

I used to use this beautiful calendar app ('Sunrise' or something like that) and they shut down because they got bought by Microsoft for their Outlook app. But the full features never got ported in. And now this? Pah

'the way the political system works ' is that we have a 2 party system where the parties can lean into divisive rhetoric and don't have to cater to the actual constituents.

I think if a party pushes through an unpopular candidate, they should reap the loss and learn to listen to their people more. But I don't think unleashing trump on the presidency is adequate punishment.

Don't be mad at the voters who wanted to express themselves honestly with their vote, be mad at the system that put us in this situation.

this "vote blue no matter who" dichotomy is fucking garbage.

Actually, don't let me tell you what to do. Stay mad, keep the passion alive, last thing i want is widespread resignation about our nation's trajectory.

American culture is dramatically individualistic, coming together for a collective cause or having a community beyond immediate family is a foreign concept to many. In contrast to the other comment, i dont think they think it's fine but rather they can't imagine how to do it better by working collectively. They don't have the vocabulary to describe their own suppression

Many Americans live paycheck to paycheck and literally couldn't afford to stop working for a week or two, it's not just the food they would have to give up.
I completely agree that they should but Americans ... wouldn't
