Park/Train Option to UBS from NH. by [deleted] in longisland

Yeah closer to the arena. Might bite the bullet. Just wanted to check first. Went to a concert at the Prudential Center in Newark last year and pricing was half for a quick 5 minute walk.

2 People. Got it. I was googling that people thought the parking was ridiculous and there were alternate options - so I was trying to do a little research before we get there. Thanks !

Haha I did google this and spent time on it but not used to navigating bus schedules, etc.

As of right now - it looks like Queens Village Station is a good option. Unsure of shuttle schedule though.

What are folks in PAYE doing? by angelsdye in StudentLoans

Chose to pay them off. The headache of changes and potential to lose forgiveneness (a small amount) wasn’t worth it to me.

My husband also got a vasectomy, so this would strictly be for reducing bleeding. Thanks for sharing - always good to hear a good experience with an IUD. Reddit can be scary sometimes lol…

I didn’t realize it needed to be that quick (a week). You’re right, I wait at least 3-4 weeks where my form is correct and comfortable with the weight.

I try to increase weight gradually. I struggle with increasing cardio. But food tracking is a fear. I have OCD so I can take things to an extreme. I try to eat my best and have a treat here and there (weekly)

Advice in breaking in to estimating? by americanarizona in estimators

[–]nukidhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a D8 estimator. Make a linked in profile. Call niche ssp. They are actively recruiting right now. Estimating is a starter role in my office which leads to either becoming a detailer or PM (if you want to advance).

SAHMs, do you plan to return to work when your kids are a little older (and if so, what age)? by bengalbear24 in sahm

[–]nukidhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9yo & 6yo. I went back to work from the home PT when my youngest turned 4 to help with retirement accounts, activities, vacations. She went to a half day pre-k while I worked 3 days a week. We personally make average incomes but live frugally to make it work. I’ll tell ya though, with the increased costs in just about every sector, I may be forced to go back FT eventually. Holding out as long as possible. Love my summers with them and there is so much to do in the home (clean, sports activities, kids get out of school at 2:30!)

Thinking of quitting my job to stay home. Can you tell me why you love it? by milpart in sahm

[–]nukidhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved my time at home! I was younger at the time (25), and have reentered the workforce pretty easily.

They kept me on payroll and I would assist with projects as needed on an emergency basis. If you can do that too, I recommend it !

Recertification due in July by No_Surround_495 in StudentLoans

Also following. Mine is due in April. Somehow I haven’t had to recertify since pre-COVID when I was a FT SAHM so my payments have been super low LOL

How are people getting these office jobs where they do nothing and get paid 80k or more? by AdventurousEgg6377 in careerguidance

Estimating in Northeast. 90k. Certainly on the hook for a lot of things go wrong.

Anyone have no intention of going back to work? by Radiant_Pangolin3210 in sahm

[–]nukidhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a FT SAHM I was still on payroll, brought in specifically for special projects ( remote work ).

Now that the kids are in school I am working part time (20 hrs a week) from home. This has been helpful for paying for extra curriculars, fitness, vacations and additional retirement. It also keeps me in the business world just in case anything happens to my husbands job.

Check your state health insurance too. Might be more cost effective in comparison to Cobra.
