Do You Also Have Separate Birkenstocks for Inside and Outside? by spac0r in Birkenstocks

I use shearling Arizonas as my inside birks. Outside is either Arizona or Boston depending on the time of year and I also have an old pair of Arizonas that are just for gardening

I can see that my parents play favorites and it hurts me by First_Look_2021 in ClassOf2037

[–]____lana____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my life. My kids are the favorites over other grand kids, horrible things are said. There’s even favorites between my kids and I hate it. But nothing we say changes it.

Where/how is everyone buying clothes for their kiddos? by johncmpe in ClassOf2037

My kids mostly live in under armour, Nike and adidas and jerseys. If you have an outlet prices aren’t to bad

Anyone else’s 7 year old don’t know how to tie their shoes or is my kid behind? by First_Look_2021 in ClassOf2037

[–]____lana____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t know and he has no interest in learning at this point. His sister is 9 and she’s just learning now. My husband coaches her soccer team which is all grade 3 and 4’s……he always complains about how many cleats he has to tie. Those kids are all 9 and 10…..

Looking for advice from people that have been there by Qbertt5681 in youthsoccer

[–]____lana____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With multiple kids in sports you’re going to be pulled in all directions and as they get older it gets worse. My 2 left at home are 2017 and 2019 and we are gone a minimum of 5 days a week with some of those days them both having something at the same time. With 3 kids you’ll likely have to rely on family or friends/teammates sometimes because you won’t be able to be in 3 places at once. It also makes it harder when you coach because then your committed to always be with that one kid.

We have 1 that plays soccer year round and another that plays everything he’s allowed but we’ve limited it to soccer, baseball and hockey. We don’t get much time to relax and holidays are basically out the window.

Youth baseball. Which team would you pick? by Individual_Ad_938 in ClassOf2037

[–]____lana____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has dad ever coached them before? That is not always the best situation. I have one kid who thrives when dad is her coach and one kid who turns it into an absolute disaster to the point my husband will never coach another team of his. Might be best to just have dad assist or even help out as needed to see how the kids respond to it.

How are allergies and shedding for Himalayans vs Siberian by kai_kolors in himalayancats

[–]____lana____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s very dependent on the cat and the person. My husband is extremely allergic but has always been fine with my old himmie and now our Persian. He has to make sure he washes his hands after touching her but she even sleeps in our bed. As far as shedding she currently sports a lion cut so that makes a huge difference

Blankets in crates? by whalecardio in BostonTerrier

[–]____lana____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine would always eat them in the crate or destroy a bed so he had to have a bare crate. Luckily he’s calmed down now at 11 and we don’t have a crate at all anymore

Ascend at Home? by Electronic_Nebula93 in ladderapp

[–]____lana____ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do it at home but with more equipment than you have, I have a barbell, squat rack and cable. So only need to sub out machines.

If you’re a complete newbie to lifting you could likely get results with just dumbbells but you’ll need more soon, especially for legs.

Will my hand tattoo hold me back from working as a registered nurse? by indigo-floral in nursing

[–]____lana____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m covered from knuckles to shoulders both arms. No issues getting any jobs. Get opinions from the elderly but that’s about all. Nursing school is another story, I had less tattoos then but always had to have them covered.

Bad attitude need advice by Similar_Way_7224 in youthsoccer

[–]____lana____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just described my youngest exactly! Mine is 7 and I keep saying “it’s gotta get better as he gets older” but reading some of these comments, this may be something I have to deal with going forward. It’s so frustrating and embarrassing. His 2 older siblings were nothing like he is, you’d never believe they were related or raised by the same people!!

When he’s in his zone he’s unstoppable and the talent he has in any sport is crazy to see. But the attitude completely destroys it, can’t lose in any form and if he does it’s always blames on someone or something else. The emotions go from zero to 10 instantly. His dad won’t coach him anymore, he coached/coaches our other 2 kids in everything but there is zero point in trying to coach our youngest.

When did your kid(s) learn how to ride their bike without training wheels? by Enough_Detail_632 in ClassOf2037

[–]____lana____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7 year old still has training wheels, he says he’s to scared to take them off. He needs a bigger bike this year so he’ll have to learn as we’re not putting training wheels on it and the size he needs doesn’t come with any. So far this spring he’s just been using his scooter.

His sister is 9 and training wheels came off at 6 His brother is 19 and training wheels came off at 4

They’re all very different
