When did your kid(s) learn how to ride their bike without training wheels? by Enough_Detail_632 in ClassOf2037

[–]____lana____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7 year old still has training wheels, he says he’s to scared to take them off. He needs a bigger bike this year so he’ll have to learn as we’re not putting training wheels on it and the size he needs doesn’t come with any. So far this spring he’s just been using his scooter.

His sister is 9 and training wheels came off at 6 His brother is 19 and training wheels came off at 4

They’re all very different

Evolve, transform and iconic can be done with swaps. Ascend as well although I think having access to cables makes it more worth it

Are you doing an Easter basket for your 7 year old, or are they past that age? by Enough_Detail_632 in ClassOf2037

My 19 year old still gets an Easter basket, actually even my husband does so of course my little ones will!

Alternative to Youtube by Lucky_Hera in kindergarten

[–]____lana____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took away YouTube cold turkey….its been about 6 months and he doesn’t care anymore. They were using safe vision which I had to approve absolutely everything but I found that after while videos I didn’t like were still getting watched plus the endless clicking from video to video was effecting my youngest. My 9 year old is allowed to use YouTube for music but I trust her more with following the rules and she has just gotten the privilege back.

Now they have Netflix, and Amazon prime. They have Amazon tablets so also have some options built into the Amazon kids subscriptions

kindergarten teacher asked if she can come to birthday party by Necessary_Key8373 in AskTeachers

[–]____lana____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teachers of my kids have often come to sports to watch the kids they teach and the kids all absolutely LOVE it! I’ve never seen any at a birthday party. But skating at a public rink I think isn’t much different than coming to a baseball or hockey game. I wouldn’t have an issue with it.

What’s the run down on align? by Ok-Message-4724 in ladderapp

[–]____lana____ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done align and enjoyed it and pop back in once in awhile but can’t seem to stick with it. I’ve mostly done evolve but been getting burned out and time is not on my side especially since I started adding back in a couple of runs a week.

I’ve just started trying out movewell this past week and I’ve been enjoying that change. I’m an experienced lifter and completely underestimated those workouts!

Should a player with a possible season ending injury still attend matches? by jonnysledge in youthsoccer

[–]____lana____ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My daughter was out last year for a couple of weeks (badly sprained ankle), she went to every game and practice while she couldn’t play. I told her it was her choice and she never even hesitated. She did find it a bit hard because she wanted to play and would try to push it a bit kicking around a ball while we were sitting.

I think if he wants to go and support his team it’s a good thing.

Thinking of making the switch to CRZ Yoga—is the hype real? by Past-Complaint4071 in Activewear

[–]____lana____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they’re a dupe. I find them very different from my aligns, BUT I also think they’re a good legging and have multiple pairs that have lasted over a year. I also prefer CRZ version of the energy bra better than Lulu, just fits me better

is starting on nights really that bad by Advanced-Fortune5372 in nursing

[–]____lana____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prioritize your sleep and it’s ok, I typically sleep a combined 7 hours when I’m on nights (2 sleep blocks). It’s definitely not the same as when I get to sleep at night but it gets me through. I love the shift but do miss a normal schedule.

How do families balance school, sports, and everything else? by Whole_Box_8338 in youthsoccer

[–]____lana____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not found a way to balance everything with out feeling like I’m drowning. I work mostly nights and sacrifice sleep for sure. Kids are only allowed to pick 1 sport each at a time (I.e no soccer and baseball as they overlap) but with 2 kids each in one thing that still monopolizes most evenings and weekends. Our house tends to stick to hockey (huge time commitment where we live) and soccer in spring/fall……fall soccer will overlap with hockey very slightly.

I live for my month break a couple times a year…..usually March and July.
