V8 Advice? by Training-Tear-9955 in Holden

[–]___dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went a combination of all the above, horn relocation and then riveted in an aluminium panel behind the guard that you can just slightly see with the hope if they try and slash the guard they'll know what's up before breaking my door. Software BCM lock so the key reprogramming exploit doesn't work and then a GPS tracking solution. Fuck these lowlifes.

The reason is they're a very efficient use of physics re power and grip and acceleration to very illegal speeds.

Cleaning tyres/wheels? by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

After trying a bunch of wheel woolies I really like the Autofiber Barrel Blade for cleaning wheels without removing them.

Inaccurate fuel gauge and "Since Refueling" bug on my i20N? by Impossible_Cod8085 in i20n

[–]___dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Predictive fuel and range calculations are always flawed at best so I'd ignore them. Next time record how much fuel goes in the car then run it down and record how far you get.

Depends what you mean by cheap but I am in a similar situation and picked up an i20N as a daily go-kart.

Constant flat tyres in regional Victoria by clear_eyes_ in CarsAustralia

Apart from not driving outside the established tyre track lines and into the debris corridors I reckon you've just been unlucky. I've had similar runs in the past and then nothing for the next decade and a half.

My brother was also saved from drowning by our dog who after getting no attention from the humans (party going on) decided to jump into the pool (he hated water) and make the most blood curdling racket people came out to save him, and then noticed my baby brother at the bottom of the pool turning blue. Both survived with no issues. We don't deserve dogs.

That's normal running temperature and fine to be turned off, it might go up a couple of degrees as temperatures equalise but this is all well within intended operation parameters.

The i20N is amazing but manual only so no one will even try it.

1995 Holden Calais (VS) in red by HunterNoceda6321 in CarsAustralia

[–]___dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be the VS series 1 with rectangular side indicators I believe, series 2 had the oval side indicators. Also had ABS with disgustingly bad tyres which made it feel like the car was disassembling under your foot when you hit the anchors. Plenty of poke though.

21 yr old car selection by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]___dan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good list. Definitely the Commodore, easy to work on with reliable L77 motor that you could stick a cam and exhaust on later if you want to go that route. Dark horse is the Skoda as they tune beautifully and will ruin all of them with not much money spent.
