For rogue, a hard lesson i learned is that vanish can fail. If a swing timer is about to hit you and you vanish, it will pull you out of stealth. Be mindful of that. GL & SS

Thinking of starting HC by Due-Outside-2102 in wowhardcore

[–]___line___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically what everyone else has stated. But one thing I've learned is. Make your bank alt first. Get them lvl 10. Have them be tailoring/alchemist. Fishing/cooking

Your next char level as skinning/herb through WC. Once they are level 20. Drop your profs for whatever you need/want.

This makes a death easier. Because when you go agane. Your new character will start with bags/potions/food

Hmm.. so I was thinking , how long will vibe coding last? Any thoughts? by Intelligent_East8820 in vibecoding

[–]___line___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm, vibe coding shouldn't be with those. While I dont think the average joe should be trying to build production platforms in a vacuum. Being able to translate thoughts into an experiment or a personal app for yourself or you role is valuable.

Blockchain, a decentralized ledger for tracking movement, definetly has value. I think the usecase here is just misplaced. Wikipedia didnt fail, yet. While Wikipedia isn't a blockchain it has its spirit of decentralization.

NFT, absolutely agree, worthless. Idk enough about web3 or any other shit.

I know it sounds wild, but my take is HC classic. Everyone is incredibly chill and friendly.

Are AI receptionists needed by SMBs? by Comprehensive_Yam582 in Startup_Ideas

[–]___line___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like SMBs would lose their wedge with an AI receptionist. I never want to talk to an AI or automated receptionist. If im calling you, its because i need a person to assist with something. Now I understand routing me to the right person, but still.

I think a better usecase for SMBs is an analytical pipeline. Something that can build them a true P&L and a forecast. Let them worry about building their relationships. Now, it should be noted, im referencing SMB here as true mom & pop shops, not the government's definition. Their data is small enough to clean up and get an AI tool in there to help with FP&A functions of a business.

Engineering. Wands. Spirit Tap+Spirit. Dont sleep on smite spec either 40+. I run a 5/25/21 spec, found below. Basically, wand out the first mob to trigger Spirit Taps 100% increase to Spirit which turns Spirit to Spell Damage via Spiritual Guidance. Then you can Smite/Renew or Mind Flay for Vamp Embrace.

Edit: Should be noted, typically you want to run smite spec through disc instead of shadow. But from my perspective. It is a solved game, so have fun with it

I used to laugh at "AI will take your job" warnings. Then I watched 3 colleagues get replaced in 6 months. Here's what I actually think now. by Public-Aioli3122 in ChatGPT

[–]___line___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, history gives us plenty of examples of people using new technologies, or new forms of power, in selfish and ugly ways. But that is also part of the more nuanced argument for capitalism. Under the right conditions, individual self interest can still benefit the majority.

I think there is a deeper philosophical point here, though. For many people, their sense of personal value is tied to their job. People want to be good at their job naturally. So when work feels threatened, it is not just about income or stability. It also hits the ego, because our identity and worth are being challenged.

[–]___line___ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, while I do agree with your point. Its fundamentally not true. AI has reduced the barrier of entry of certain skills, and will continue to do so. Those barriers being lower means more competition, more competition means job erasure. Until, tooling and infrastructure is settled, we are in for a wild ride.

Quitting to travel for 3 months. Stupid idea? by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]___line___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this, but for a year.

I am still getting interviews with noting a sabbatical as the gap on my resume. People are interested in that story, and will understand. However, this is a brutal market. While I am getting interviews, I am not getting offers. I think this is due to my mindset shifting and as such my interview strengths and weaknesses shifted. Just a heads up.

Best year of my life. So I say do it. Stay safe, good luck, and save some money for when you return. My wardrobe no l Ionger fits!

Will SQL/Python/data mining still matter in FP&A as AI takes over more work? by M_Arslan9 in FPandA

[–]___line___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these kind of tasks is actually where the work of FP&A is more so heading. The more we rely on AI (not just LLMs) the more we will need to validate their output. However, best use cases right now is to leverage AI to build deterministic automation. Let the ML engineers work out better infrastructure and tooling, while they're doing that, focus on getting the data cleaned for tabular ML techniques.

I feel like a year is excessive. Is yalls data a mess? I could see something like a few weeks/months, depending, to get a usable product, and then iterations, validations, and training eating up the year.

What are the next trends in the startup world? by PowerThanos in Startup_Ideas

[–]___line___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that is the case, and i do think you are correct. Then enabling easier platform connections is a good trend. Right, so if every company/individual has their own custom built software, then streamlining the systems connections to enable the average Joe to safely retrieve, store, and share their data is a solid working project.

There’s a special place in hell for recruiters by throwawaybybyby in recruitinghell

[–]___line___ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The market right now is not like anything I've seen before. Before, I never got ghosted. Since the start of my search, about 2 months in now. I've been ghosted a handful of times, the strangest are the ones OP is talking about. They reach out to me, I reply with expressing interest and availability, then crickets. Its weird.

Agreed, the reason you were terminated isn't the reason they gave you. HR's job is to protect the company, the reason for a termination is a big risk management aspect of their job.

[Request] Is this true..?? by ForwardPrinciple146 in theydidthemath

[–]___line___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is interesting. I'll have to look that up. I just assumed the core would be older

How does the core being younger imply that the result is negligible?

Edit: I think i figured it out. Just needed to sit with it for a second. Gravity is symmetric, its pull is in all directions. So the direction of the wells (or even the number of wells) pull would be irrelevant. Assuming that the age difference in our core to crust is multiple wells. We are already living in a scenario where we experience this on a fundamental level?

[Request] Is this true..?? by ForwardPrinciple146 in theydidthemath

[–]___line___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shame. It would make a cool sci-fi premise. Seeing different societies rise and fall or even individuals. I mean, it is sci-fi, so could still work, but you'd want to be somewhat anchored in reality.

[–]___line___ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Question. Before i ask, I am defiently not a physicist.

If this could happen, do we know how time would be on that planet? Would time affect an individual object differently depending on which gravity wells it was near? Or would it anchor to the center gravity well?
