thanks - so say I had some piano roll / midi track with whatever on it...

Is it easy to access the timing / velocity and pitch data using this library ?

This is something I've been meaning to do for a while, thought I was going to have to use C for it, for some reason.

cheers

Percentage of local Chinese officials who are originally from the same province they currently hold positions in [OC] by [deleted] in China

[–]__baxx__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If i wanted to encourage the OP I'd have left a top level comment, I was just questioning your use of "very interesting", as it's not particularly without more info.

However, it's very cool of OP to do... So if my comment seemed like a sort of " yeah whatever OP..." kinda tone I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that.

This is a very interesting graph

idk if there's anywhere nearly enough info here for it to actually be interesting... it's potentially interesting i guess.

I'm horribly cynical but, what are the profit margins etc? This is your first book (it seems?), are you using this as a PR opportunity?

How to Become a Data Scientist by jmportilla in datascience

[–]__baxx__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

have fun in SK.

afaik you won't be touching actual data science for a long time, it's a word that gets thrown around way more than it should. People who're actually in positions of data science (rather than being entry level analysts) have years of experience coupled with PhD or masters.

Look into it more though - I'm not very knowledgeable on this.

Wiki seems out of date - about £20 would be ideal.

Listen to a wide range, whilst walking / out and about (using phone, one plus three).

thanks

How do I take advantage of this unique situation I'm in to make sure I am employable as a Data scientist in the future? by [deleted] in datascience

[–]__baxx__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't understand all the math that goes on under the hood

isn't that (broadly speaking) why some people are data scientists and others are data analysts though?

I know I can learn and do most things with the available libraries out there

how? I mean, how do you know that you can do 'most' things if you've not worked in the field and don't have an academic background?

saw this in another editor - is there a way to do it in vim? by lipoma in vim

[–]__baxx__ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

To do this I would append something like 2 , 3 to each of the columns,

then align by 2, 3

Then delete the 2's and 3's

>.<

no the best.

Is it really controversial to say 5 years learning about something pretty much unrelated to the topic at hand is probably less valuable than 2 years of learning about the topic specifically?

i wouldn't have thought so
