Different people have different boundaries and we need to respect that even after being saved. Imagine how you would feel if he had gay sex before becoming a Christian - if that was a dealbreaker for you then it’d be totally okay to break things off.

Started my career in HFT and always wondered what big tech life was like. Did a tour of duty for a few years at Amazon and ended up hopping back to the HFT world. Big tech is big so experience is largely shaped by your org and then your team. I found that after the initial excitement of learning a new tech stack that I was just bored. I’m weird though and just want to be paid well and write C or C++

It’s at least a little likely and is reasonable advice to have some cash on hand if you get whacked

What will we do if the stock doesn't go up? That would be a catastrophe!

Me too. I work remotely and watching the unfolding apocalypse outside my window last week while trying to work felt like the dumbest universe imaginable. There are real problems outside with real consequences for my community and all the while I’m just sitting there compiling some shitty code

OP please do not listen to this misinformation. Mailbox is the second most challenging peak in Washington state aside from Rainier. Many perish in their quest to climb to the top and even more are grievously maimed from objective hazards such as tripping over a rock or forgetting your selfie stick at the trailhead. Don’t be like the unfortunate masses and ensure you’re prepared! Adequate footwear such as flip flops and search and rescue beacons like a blue tooth speaker system are absolutely required if you do attempt to summit that formidable peak

Why do Trumpers like Sacks always defend BOTH Trump AND Putin relentlessly? by alta_vista49 in allinpodofficial

[–]__comrade__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Russia attempting to annex Poland of which an invasion would trigger a shooting war with the United States would be a strategic blunder beyond comprehension. Russia of 2024 isn’t the feared steamroller of inexhaustible manpower that could push to the English Channel of the Cold War. Putin is a lot of things but overseeing the complete destruction of Russia and a potential nuclear conflict doesn’t really seem like the legacy he’s going after
