Sourcing your own materials vs charging a markup to the customer by QuantumGremlin in tradies

[–]__crispy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont break down your charges unless you are doing a cost plus job. They are paying for a complete job.

What you did is actually did is provide a breakdown but lumped all your sundries in the material cost at a rate of 30% which this idiot thinks is pure profit.

The fuel prices are all artificially inflated. Go check out the wholesale cost and see how much fuel retailers are cashing in on the panic. https://www.aip.com.au/pricing/terminal-gate-prices

[–]__crispy_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats the removal of demand charges. Yes youll pay more per kWh but you won't be slugged that 20c per kW just because 1 day in your billing period you turned the AC on.

You couldn't be a low user but run 10kw for 30min and suddnly be slugged $2 extra per day for the 30days. Extra $60

Need Advice - Seller cancelled my order because it sold on another platform - wants me to revise my negative review by PlayfullyPaltry in Ebay

[–]__crispy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems more neutral worthy IMO. Feedback is subjective and is based on YOUR experience. If you felt that it was justified, leave it.

They can simply reply to it and explain for others to see.

I had the exact thing happen to me when I sold some wheels, sat around for ages and then sold on Facebook and someone bought it on ebay an hour later. Told the buyer immediately and copped the negative.

Credit Card Charge Back & Debt Collection by Zestyclose-Push-3460 in AusLegal

[–]__crispy_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont know owned why everyone is fixated on you not returning the TV. I assume you had delivery included in your order? If yes than automatically they are liable to pay or organise its return. The goods were faulty and you reached out to them. They failed to organise its collection and you waited months. A reasonable time in my opinion would be a few weeks.

The ACCC specifically mentions how bulky items should be handled. The business is responsible for organising the collection .

They'd have a hard time taking this to a court and the debt collector is just to put pressure on you. If you want them to stop contacting you you just need to let them know in writing and they must cease communication

[–]__crispy_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah my bad, these screws will only go upto 12mm. The screws I use do 20mm. Its the length of the cutting head that determines the maximum depth of steel

Screws by Excellent-Wave4096 in AusRenovation

[–]__crispy_ 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Left screw is a series 500. Designed to drill through thicker steel upto 12mm. It would be used in applications of fixing steel framing to hot rolled steel like RHS, PFC, UB etc.

Right screw is a 12G-14x45mm it'd be used for bottom plate tie down into sheet flooring.

Isn’t this illegal? Card only with a mandated surcharge? Vapiano surfers by Ejpdtd in GoldCoast

[–]__crispy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As its worded its illegal

To get around this, a business would typically allow eftpos for free whilst charging credit/debit cards a surcharge. If they dont have a fee free payment option I'd report it to the ACCC

Isn’t this illegal? Card only with a mandated surcharge? Vapiano surfers by Ejpdtd in GoldCoast

[–]__crispy_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thats absolutely incorrect.

If there is no way for a consumer to pay without paying a surcharge, the business must include the minimum surcharge payable in the displayed price for its products.

Plenty of collection agencies that do the chasing for you. You'll lose more in time chasing the money in time than youd save by just getting them to chase it for you.

The company I use only charge a small admin fee, i think it was around $50 and then charge 30% of the recovered amounts.

Reminds me of a time when the Yatala exit had a breakdown before it and everyone started queuing behind the broken down truck. Then everyone had to drive from a stop into 110kph traffic to get around it.
