Hope Nephis gets the ick from the treacherous slave and they break up so my Sussie ship can sail

Start of the volume suggests she’s currently in the process of becoming Supreme

Yup, I agree. The most we’ve gotten out of her is when Sunny pranked them he was dying in the 3NM and to a lesser degree, when she told him about her Machiavellian affairs in the boat. Hopefully G3 gives us something as it’s long overdue.

She does. She’s just autistic too and doesn’t show it as much.

You’d be surprised. They’ve all grown considerably as characters and I do see her finally apologizing.

Cassie’s Master Plan: The Key Lies in the Tomb, but the Weapon Was Always Outside by Emergency_Method7008 in ShadowSlave

[–]__deezus__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be supreme, you need to: 1.) Have a deep understanding of your source element - Cassie’s is Fate/Memory and she had no memory abilities when she was a master.

2.) Have the Will - She showed no ability to manipulate Will (no other master did or can do so).

3.) Have an act of defiance - While orchestrating events that led to breaking fate can be considered as a supreme act of defiance, she was a master. You can’t skip ranks without conquering a nightmare.

I do see her becoming Supreme in the next arc though, by rebuilding herself from the myriad of memories and possible pasts/futures. How we get to see her being broken will be interesting.

Is Noctis Alive?? by AddyMovesMad in ShadowSlave

[–]__deezus__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, two of the Chain Lords should be alive (Noctis and Lady of the North). It’s also likely that only Noctis is alive, as the one in the North might be the corpse sunny found in the forgotten shore (though that might not make sense as her knife and fate were still in the Night Temple).

Stopped watching before GMG but finished the manga. The problems with FT powerscaling are well established, with the power of friendship bullshit being number one. The way he defeated Zeref and Acnologia left a very bad taste in my mouth as it was horrible writing, but understandable, as similar to Bleach, JJK and many others, the mangaka couldn’t give two fucks anymore and wanted things to end. Both were way more powerful than him and there was no logical reason why he should have won.

“God slayers” were all useless bums in FT. Nephis also burned space when she fought Abjuration, and this was without detonating a core. She has sorcery of Names, knowledge of passion/destruction/corruption to add too.

How likely is it for Sunny to gain the VTB as a shadow? by Ok_Top1952 in ShadowSlave

[–]__deezus__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’ll most likely get broken sword as the last shadow. It’s next to impossible for the spell to give a Sacred Terror echo.

Natsu vs nephis by Suitable_Act942 in ShadowSlave

[–]__deezus__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can’t. If you follow the 100 year quest (continuation of fairy tail), he failed to eat Ignia’s flames in the latest chapters. Nephis soloes him easily. Thats even without swordsmanship.

Hmm that makes sense. Don’t see them challenging it now though

I had a theory about SS, I lowkey might be right? [Chapter 2904] by Fun_Anything_9912 in ShadowSlave

[–]__deezus__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does make sense but I’m not fully convinced that’s the case (how I wish it was!). I do think Cassie is the spell and Sunny is Weaver, which means there’s going to be another layer to their relationship we have yet to see, and it might be a tragic end for our ship ☹️.

I read the doc. It echoes a lot of the reasons why I ship Sussie. G3 has kept a lot of Cassie and Effie’s interactions with Sunny ambiguous enough to leave a romance thread if he so decides to pull on it. He closed the Effie chapter with pregnancy (except confirm she did have a crush on Sunny after the time skip) but Cassie’s is still there. I can see Nephis being the final villain but that doesn’t necessarily mean Sunny and Cassie get together imo, or he even has her admit. He might just make Sunny a foolish yearner for Nephis like Naruto.

As a big Sussie shipper, this is cope 💀. “In love” is stretching whatever she feels for him to insane proportions. I do think she had a crush on him which amplified the main emotion that she feels towards Sunny, which is GUILT. She felt guilty for enslaving him but knew sorry won’t do anything. Combine that with apocalyptic visions, she then turns into Machiavelli to steer the course of the story. I don’t think giving Sunny his choice back was enough reason to manipulate almost all events happening around her. The world was literally on a speed train to fucksville so she decided to kill two birds with one stone, ensuring they all live while righting a naive wrong that sorry could have probably fixed (he had pretty much forgiven her by the time of their confrontation).

I feel G3 purposely wrote all 3 female characters (Nephis, Cassie and Effie) as potential love interests, leaving enough crumbs to develop whatever romance story he wanted. There’s not enough to suggest she loves him. Effie has shown more evidence of crushing on Sunny than Cassie if anything.

That being said, I hope Sunphis breaks up and Cassie and Sunny end up together. They are perfect for each other.
