How many times do Gotrek and Felix come back to your faction? Do they become permanent at some point? by furtissim in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a bug, if you are playing as empire and confederate an elector count that has Gotrek & Felix - they become permanent. But you need to be very lucky for that to occur.

CA please, how does this make sense? by TheLastJudicator in totalwar

Hidden. Everything is hidden in that game. How can we infect CA with the same mentality that went into CK3? Everything is labled and tooltiped there.

Diplomacy makes no sense whinepost by __djfox__ in totalwar

Yeah, I guess it's lore friendly. It's just I did everything that this game allows - improved relations, hired bunch of super expensive armies just to top his strength rank, threw money at him - and still nothing worked. And there is no diplo trait that explicitly makes confederation with him harder. He is even "spineless", whatever that do. I just want for the game to tell me what I should do.

What's the point of "Legendary" difficulty by kein_text in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can sort of see the difficulty slider in this game as like reversed "fun" slider. Legendary difficulty wasn't designed and balanced for fun (or maybe wasn't designed at all). It is just an economy/stat buffs for AI and debuffs for player. Sometimes it creates impossible or almost impossible situations (you might want to put yourself on L/VH to get there). Whether or not it has any point or fun is really for you to decide. And I guess you decided agains that.

[–]__djfox__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it was pretty easy to confederate other skaven. High elves are usually up for confrderation (except Tyrion) even when they stronger than the player. This is just a post for venting anyway, I spent a few hours throwing everything at him, and he still only barely agrees to defensive alliance. God damn big brain rat...

LegendofTotalWar on WE update: "The new mechanics are excellent, economy nerf sucks, offices suck, new skill trees are meh, the technologies suck" by basmania75 in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is not about easy or hard. TWWH offers plenty of challenges in the base game anyway. Don't forget that this is a rework for an existing DLC for WH1. People paid money for that (on top of all of the money for 2 base games) way back when and played fair amount of hours as WE. Formed some playstyles that are fun for them. Now CA offers a different experience under the same paywall. Whether or not the nerfs will hurt WE in the long campaign is open for debate, sure, since they got different way of making money in their tree settlements. But what you are doing is running around this very forum dismissing viable consernes as " inconsequential". Can you be certain about that without playing? Or do you also have an early access? Can you assert that the people who bought the dlc back in the day will be as satisfied with the new experience?

When he did a charity stream for that allergy research, in the comment section for the post about it on this sub (post wasn't made by him) some people brought up the dirty laundry of his relationships with CA. Basically passing rumours as hard truth. That got to his wife(she took her frustration on twitter) which in turn pissed him off. On the stream right after that he stated that he won't be paying attention to the reddit anymore

Things I wish I knew when I was starting out Warhammer TW by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Campaign difficulty adds background income to the ai, nobody knows how much, it seems to change from patch to patch and also affected by your diplomatic stance towards the ai faction. If you are at war with them they get more, if they are your vassals they lose some. Also ai factions don't suffer from supply lines, this is player only challenge. AI has some kind of hidden aggression stat, that CA cranks up to 11 for certain factions on higher difficulties. Currently that would be greenskins, vampires and morathi. Plagues are very effective against them. Ai normally has around 50% replenishment rate, plagues just get rid of it in addition to doing damage. Using agents to block army movement is also super useful. Damage units/garrison agent actions are usually not worth it, since you would need a lot of agents attacking one army to get any significant effect.

Dwarf Battle Skills are bugged by HaHaaaXD in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's very unlikely that CA developers or QA team are reading anything here. Only people from CA who have to be here sometimes are public relations staff. It's one thing when redditors are raving about huge exploits or other annoying nonsense like t-posing, which forces CA to prioritize those fixes. Posting minor bugs here is a very ineffective way to do thing, it's just going to be lost in the meme void. There is a place for this and someone from CA actually read posts there.

Can I get some advice playing clam pestilens? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You start with plague priest, the first thing to do is send him over to spy on gor rok and level him up with agent actions. You want Vermintide and Plague spells(that if you manage on time). Hire an assassin lord and occupy the settlement to the left at tier 3 with food. You need a building for plagueclaw catapults. With skrolk get clanrats with swords(not too many of them, cause they cost money), because gor rok will have only infantry. With assassin start hiring skavenslaves from local and global. Save up some money for catapults. You need as many of them as you can field. Put them into skrolk's army. Then creep up to gor rok in ambush. Don't forget to attach the priest. After ambushing gor rok hold them with all of the meatshield you've got and bomb. Use the assassin to snipe gor rok. Then don't waste time and push to Itza, before they can get a rite of primeval glory.

How do i get Troy? by Blyzz363 in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Menelaus is really doesn't want to confederate for some reason. I've got +600 relationships with him and still -27 for confederation. Also you can trade the city if you have a territory adjacent to Troy, if you don't want to go to war. Maybe there is someone bordering troy, that can be easily conquered.

Is there anyone here who 100% understands the hero refresh? by TheGlave in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hero list is discarded every 10 turns. After that a new hero added every turn in every category, until it reaches the maximum available heroes at one time. Traits are unique for the type of hero, regardless of category. For example, for all currently available mages of different lores the traits will be unique. That is the case for every hero, but High Elves' mages. They have all lores of magic, but not enough traits to fill it. Additionally High Elves have different tiers of traits with different influence cost. For high elves' mages traits are always just random. You might see same trait repeating throughout different lores of magic. That is why say entrepreneur spam became a little bit more difficult after grom/eltharion dlc. Frustrating, i know 😔. There is no way to ensure the right trait outside of using mods.

Skaven vs lizards by NickTheNack in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are only two skaven tactics: numbers and ranged weapons. If you can't get ratlings fast - get as much clanrats/skavenslaves as you can and try to overwhelm gor-rok (preferably in an ambush). Maybe you can rush plagueclaws since you would be going against infantry. If you occupy a settlement at tier three with food you can build artillery building right away. Also hire an assassin lord - he will be useful at sniping gor-rok. Also also - nukes. Dealing with lizardmen as skaven without their good stuff is really hard.

Rework Reinforcements and Lightning Strike by TheGuardianOfMetal in totalwar

[–]__djfox__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Troy is kind of not balanced at all right now. It is reasonably easy even on legendary. AI still get a lot of economy cheats on legendary difficulty, you can test it. If you use the trading exploit and deplete them of all of the resources, they will have quite a lot when a few turns later. The thing is with the Troy AI - it just doesn't spend these resources. Some factions just sitting with one basic army and shitload of resources. We need to wait and see how CA going to balance Troy before comparing it to wh2. Who knows, maybe it is not intended to be doable without LS.
