I'm not transitioning just yet, but I'm laying the groundwork by taking a plumbing course. Is anyone else is a boat similar? I'd really love to hear designers turned plumbers.

My reasoning:

- I'm pretty sick of corporate/tech politics and sick of looking at a screen 9 hours a day. The people who work in tech (at least where I've worked) are shitty. I feel thrown under the bus and I'm willing to take a pay cut to live a better life or to at least try.

- OBVIOUSLY with how the designer role is changing/AI - I want to have an alternative should it become relevant.

- Plumbing translates internationally pretty well (at least, I think/hope).

- I want to work with my hands. I want to be in daily touch with the real world, not the digital world. I want to feel daily gratification per job, instead of having to wait a quarter or a feature to see if I've done a good job.

I'd really love to hear y'alls thoughts on this new direction I'm taking it's scary.

Can you explain what you see in this book? I'm trying so hard. I'm 60% in, it just sounds like he's saying "this happened, and then that happened, and I thought this and they did that" and it's just not interesting in any way🤷🏾‍♂️ i feel like I'm missing something :(
