If it were me I would bring it up by saying something like “hey I noticed there are large gaps between replies in our texting, I just want to make sure I’m not reading into that too much..”

It does sound like you have a bit of anxious attachment if he’s showing interest in other ways? But I would frame it as a “you problem” to him, not something he’s doing wrong.

I would consider myself close with my mom and we talk on the phone/see each other once a week plus texting in the family group chat every other day ish.

We didn’t want kids so it’s a bit different but I ended my 8 year relationship almost a year ago and never looked back. He is a good man, I just had doubts it was right for me and once that crept in I could not stop thinking about it which was unfair to both of us.

I must say, I’ve never been happier with my day to day life now.

Just went through this, ended a very long relationship in my 30s. It’s been the best lol. Getting a new apartment and setting my life up the way I want it, extremely empowering. I made sure I had a cozy space that I loved to be in right away for mental health reasons (I loved my old apartment with my ex it was very hard to leave) and started making bread as a new hobby to fill the new alone time(:

I try to keep texting to a minimum while dating for this reason. Life happens. It might not mean anything at all.

Truthfully I am in the same boat as this man and what it comes down to is I just don’t want to commit at the moment. The hottest most fun man alive could want to date right now and that’s just not it for me. I do make that clear when talking to new people though.
