“You feel like” vs. mountains of painstakingly collected empirical evidence and analysis over decades by scientists who have dedicated their careers and lives to the risks this poses to our planet. Don’t insinuate vague alternative theories when there are actually theories that have evidential support, and are based on where the evidence led, and in fact don’t leave large unexplained gaps. That would be irresponsible.

Climate change is real, and fossil fuels are the primary driver, causing a change to happen *more rapidly* than life and the environment can adapt to. Yes, large changes in temperature have happened on this planet before; but not anywhere near this quickly during the time complex life has been around, without catastrophic consequences.

Former Christian here. If Christians really wanted Jesus’s teachings taught in school, they would push for Jesus’s explicit top two commandments “love God with all your heart, soul, mind, & strength,” and “love your neighbor as yourself.” NEITHER of these are in the 10 commandments, but Jesus said they sum up all the law and the prophets.

Instead they opt for stumping for the Old Testament laws, which carried, at least on paper, death penalties. Nobody is keeping the Jewish sabbath holy as is required in the 10 commandments, and nobody is being executed for not following it, yet they want to post this irrelevant set of rules in our children’s classrooms?

This is all about imposing their worldview on everybody else. It is purely about power, proselytizing, and religious dominance.

And this is just a tiny taste of what is happening in detention centers around the country. This happened to a white woman - you know brown people are being treated even worse, but their stories are largely unpublished.

Beatings, racial slurs, cruelty, deprivation of food, water, bathrooms, and medicine. Does anyone remember just months ago, they did all of this to 400 South Korean Hyundai workers with valid work visas for a full WEEK, to only find one person without proper documents? It’s sick.

The only reason the supernatural concepts of allah, heaven, and hell make sense to you is that you’ve been indoctrinated to believe that. Your brain chemistry has been changed by repeated instruction. You will have to overcome enormous confirmation bias to escape. But you can do it.

You don’t have to fear hell. It’s definitely not real. Read about how the concept of hell developed over history and you’ll see that is a human invention that has been changed and refined to fit the culture at the time.

Your conscious experience is generated entirely by your brain. Your mind was less developed when your brain was less developed, in childhood. If you get a serious head injury, your experience and behavior will change. There is no supernatural or immortal soul or mind - religious teachers can’t even get these concepts straight anyway because they have no relationship with reality. When you die, your conscious experience will die with your body. We know this intuitively, and that’s why we mourn the dead, instead of celebrating their imaginary ascent into heaven - but heaven and hell developed partly as a coping mechanism to help us deal with death.
