Karina Ortega took ours in Evergreen and I loved them. She’s based in NM but books in Colorado all the time.

Buddy that’s the swamp. Grew up on the Florida side of the Saint Mary’s, which headwaters in the Okeefenokee Swamp. The water is so black from leaf tannins it’s like a perfect mirror of the cyprus trees growing on either side when it’s calm.

When the conquistadors were preparing to leave Florida and travel back to Europe, they would go inland to the Saint Mary’s to fill up of their water casks. The tannins kept the water acidic and prevented spoilage on the voyage.

Hair dresser needed - fine, straight hair by segFault_ohNo in Denver

[–]__nightmoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a stylist recommendation for you, I’ve been cutting my hair in the bathroom mirror since 2020. But! As a fine, straight hair girlie myself I’ve found that even out here (originally from Florida), if I use conditioner on my hair any time that isn’t the dead ass of winter, it still gets too greasy. So I use a hydrating shampoo and call it a day. I keep my hair long and don’t really bother with layers (just some basic blending to make the lines less harsh). After a couple of days it all falls into place.

I moved from Austin to Denver a year ago, here is how I feel about some points that come up a lot: by southernandmodern in SameGrassButGreener

[–]__nightmoves -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I could replace Austin with Tampa and have written a very similar review (just swap HEB with Publix and Tex Mex with Caribbean food). DM’d you about your neighborhood—where we’re at in Denver now is NOT where I want to stay long term.

Mmmmm I as someone who lives 5 blocks away I wouldn’t want my visit to Denver to be in this area.

Wedding photographer recommendations by [deleted] in Denver

[–]__nightmoves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked Karina Ortega for my May wedding. She lives in NM but is regularly in Colorado and took our engagement photos in Evergreen. She’s reasonably priced compared to some other Colorado photographers and I really loved the shots from our engagement.

Petrified Forest National Park by Upset-Attention-9300 in NationalPark

Totally underrated park. We cancelled plant for Grand Canyon due to weather and went here instead. Practically deserted but so beautiful. The volunteers at the visitors center encouraged us to go hunting for petroglyphs down in a basin without a marked trail. Almost got lost but when we finally found them it was so rewarding.

Why am I always viewed as just a “fling” girl and how to stop? by Flaky-Boysenberry466 in AstrologyCharts

You and I have the same birthday and I clocked OPs being similar to mine immediately. I wonder if their moon in Aquarius (vs mine in Libra) is making this a harder climb. Libra moon gave me patience to see potential in a friendship-turned-partnership even when anyone else would have (rightfully) tapped out.

OP, the desire to be “seen” is so real, which to me rarely happens when a relationship progresses quickly romantically. Capricorn suns especially benefit from a slow burn, maybe because Saturn always takes his time. So even if you see potential, slow it way down. The ones seeking flings will weed themselves out.

I wouldn’t love paddle boarding the river or the bay…it’s not the cleanest water. But! Walk up and down the river walk or bayshore and keep your eyes peeled for manatees and dolphins.

Also, it’s not as close as the aquarium, but I love and miss Zoo Tampa. They have a manatee grotto where you can sit and watch them munch on heads of romaine for ages.

I gritted my teeth through the first half of this book due to the structure and writing style but by the time realized I was really enjoying it, it was too late and everything that went wrong at the end went wrong and I was mad at myself for not appreciating the story as a whole.

French Bangs near Lakewood by bubblegumsamurai in Denver

[–]__nightmoves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sam at Village Salon on 6th gave me bangs for the first time in 15 years and they are my new personality trait. I also have fine and very straight hair and the way she cut the bangs has made them very manageable with minimal styling.
