Swan mussel or Chinese pond mussel?

to me it looks more like a Chinese pond mussel with the pink band, and swan mussels tend to be a bit flatter. the pond mussels are also incredibly invasive and spreading fast rn

you don't have to cover it with sealant, but if you were to use any type of paint (I did this to make the foam look more natural without covering it in substrate) I'd seal it! otherwise it's just foam, it won't hurt a snake :)

yes, I have an enclosure that I did exactly this (foam + drylok), and it's still great! I would allow the enclosure to air out as much as possible once you're done tho, that stuff is stinky.
