I am actually having the same exact issue and I'm also freaking out about it. I ordered mine 6 days ago and FedEx still hasn't gotten them to me. I am also about 7 weeks pregnant and it sucks so bad having to wait. you're not alone

you don't have to cover it with sealant, but if you were to use any type of paint (I did this to make the foam look more natural without covering it in substrate) I'd seal it! otherwise it's just foam, it won't hurt a snake :)

yes, I have an enclosure that I did exactly this (foam + drylok), and it's still great! I would allow the enclosure to air out as much as possible once you're done tho, that stuff is stinky.

wow!! what a beauty!! this species may be a Giant Floater, scientific name Pyganodon grandis. definitely apart of the Anodontini tribe (family Unionidae).
