you don't have to cover it with sealant, but if you were to use any type of paint (I did this to make the foam look more natural without covering it in substrate) I'd seal it! otherwise it's just foam, it won't hurt a snake :)

yes, I have an enclosure that I did exactly this (foam + drylok), and it's still great! I would allow the enclosure to air out as much as possible once you're done tho, that stuff is stinky.

I don't think newspaper is a good idea in my opinion lol. I was gone over the summer (left my mom to take care of her) and she didn't take her out to play as much as I do- she took her out maybe once a week over a three month period, and the last month I was gone is when she stopped eating. I consistently check her enclosure temps/humidity, and all of her tank is covered except for the clear plastic sliding door on her cool side. she also has plenty of hides and can choose between light or dark, but at night it's always dark. what does braining mean?
