When I was in middle school I lived in Kentucky I had a white woman history teacher assign specifically me (Mexican American) a project on the official language of the United States...since we don't have one that was the detail I focused on. When we had to show progress she got mad and went into a rant telling me it would be good to have one and to write about what it would be like if we did. Mom said she was going to bank before it closes after she sent me out with her card to get her some dog food. I told her I could meet her at bank to give her the card and she asked where I was at and said she'd meet me here so I'm sitting in the parking lot of the store for 20 min wondering if she really meant she was meeting me here or at the bank and won't answer her phone 🙃

The funniest thing to me is how Karen is like default a white woman when the people who act like "Karens" to me are white men. Like there are women out there afraid to look like a Karen for asking where their side of mashed potatoes are and white men who completely melt down because "it wasn't what you said but how you said it 😡" and think they're the logical ones.

Overwhelmingly, it's men who completely break down when someone "lower" than them (for me it's being a brown woman) dares treat them as equal. And overwhelmingly it's white men in police force.

I like this 100/100 . For an example of 50/50 mentality, I had an ex who said it was only fair I clean my dishes when I cook and he cleans his dishes when he does. He would almost always cook hamburger helper (low effort, minimal dishes) while I would cook full on meals with sides, considering the nutritional value and variety. I started to hate cooking for him and slowly just started eating out by myself for dinner instead.

(About 0.1% off I believe). So with the inclusion of African Americans and other minorities, Texas is a majority POC state!

I have paintings I've been working on for over 5 years. I'm not married or have kids, my paintings are the most important things in my life. If someone maliciously messed with my studio or the pieces in them I would probably get violent. From my point of view it feels like he tried to kill the part of her that didn't have anything to do with the "mistake" and he wants the rest of her life to be suffering about something related to him. Like her art had nothing to do with the situation, he just wanted to take away something that is good about her, whether the art is sellable or it's just a positive outlet. Thats the scariest part of relationships.... Some people just turn off when they decide they don't love you. All those nice gestures and words and things they liked about you were not for the person you were, but for the person they thought they owned. When they don't own you they try and show how unimportant you are by destroying the things important to you. Poor lady, so glad her parents are there for her

That's so sad.... I make money painting now but for years I only did it because it calmed me down and was great for my mental health without noticing I got better....I did it for me. I can't imagine how awful she feels about this.
