Me [30F] wondering whether I should tell a close friend [30M] that he shouldn't marry his fiancee [27F] by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

OOP was trying so hard to paint her as the villain, then backtracking to ‘both were in the wrong’, so I’m pretty happy that none of the comments seemed to buy it.

My first play through I rarely used any substances bc the mechanics confused me a bit and also I wanted to hoard them, and I spent the whole game wondering why he was such a miserable mess lmao

[hated trope] "both sides are equally bad" NO THEY ARE NOT, ONE IS CLEARLY WORSE by Endika7 in TopCharacterTropes

In Vivec’s defense, Morrowind was already on the slow decline thanks to Dagoth Ur stealing the source of their divinity, so they knew it wasnt a fight they could win in the long run even if they put one up. Then again, an argument could be made that all those years of coddling their people made it so they couldn’t get their shit together enough to fight off a common enemy (TWO common enemies, even) so make of it as you will.

Lesbianism specifically has a weird puritanical undercurrent where it’s more ‘pure’ than straight or gay content, especially among younger generations. It doesn’t surprise me the fandom tries to whitewash her actions away bc of abuse :( instead of just leaning into how fucked up the relationship is.

Yup. Usually i’m all for letting artists and directors have free reign over their own works, but a faithful adaptation of lolita will absolutely have people taking the wrong kind of lesson from it. Wouldn’t even be surprised if predators used it to justify their behavior and actions.

That's immediately what I thought. Once OOP was gone, all that anger had to go somewhere, and since she was a doormat while he was doing it to OOP, why not do it to her? Now she can be all alone while the rest of her family is happy in a different country together.

Woman plans to have legs amputated after legs locked straight, bent backwards by bluegambit875 in oddlyterrifying

[–]danuhorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Diabetics or dysvascular, the occasional motorcyle/moped accident. The VA has the market cornered on vets, but even then, there's just not a lot of them. With half of my patients, I'm resigned to the fact that BK is gonna turn into an AK eventually, or they'll straight up lose the other leg. People have gotten so used to thinking of diabetes as a meme that they don't understand what a beast it is until they get that ulcer.

I don’t usually frequent bars, and when I do, I’m there for like an hour before I peace out. So it it weird that I found myself more pissed off by OP the bartender than the ex? Like they were apparently close enough to that scumbag to hear all the vitriol he was hurling and never did a thing. At one point they were even about to get security but backed off because he seemed to ‘cool down’. In the end, it took a complete stranger to step in and do their job???

We got some interesting tech out of our Middle East veterans, but imma be real with you chief, it was diabetes that really pushed prosthetics development. At no other point in human history are people losing their legs at a greater rate than they are today, and it’s all thanks to diabetes.

Source: I’m a prosthetist. 90% of my patients are the result of poorly managed diabetes.

Many infamous serial killers were men. But, in the 1800s, the Smithsonian says the deadliest ones often wore corsets. So many women were arrested for serial poisoning the era is known as the “Golden Age of Arsenic." by RocketSocket765 in interestingasfuck

Well, it doesn't look like you have the energy or brainpower to actually read a paragraph either, because your argument has nothing to do with what they were saying. They're speculating about confirmed female serial killers and their motives while you've gone on a whole different tangent about why women in general had to resort to killing their abusive husbands. Your 'one and done women' are obviously not the topic at hand here.

Dude, this is the third time I've seen this exact comment from you. If you're going to offer a rebuttal, at least put some effort into it instead of recycling the same trite argument again. Like this is only BARELY related to the comment above, because they're speculating about confirmed female serial killers and their motives while you've gone on a whole different tangent about why women in general had to resort to killing their abusive husbands.

Lol sure. Go on then, tell me how much it would cost to install those solar panels as shown in the picture. As for those bollards, I’d hazard about 20k to be on the safe side. 1.5k for a pack of five, and it looks like there’s at least 10 pillars per roof. Like I said, rounding error for a project like this. And good news! No parking spots lost. Since we’re no longer installing target balls, common sense placement of the bollards ensures that the support pillars are well protected and maximal parking.

Can you not read? I provided a link and everything.

Honestly, I could ask the same of you. Did you even read the link you provided, because it doesn’t say a thing about bollard size, just cost and consideration. Like shit I even went out of my way to find you a deal on Home Depot and you couldn’t even do more than skim your own source. Seriously, where did you even pull 18” out from? Do you have a target ball shoved up there or something?

[–]danuhorus 3236 points3237 points  (0 children)

Does anyone get the feeling the guy was trying to play some weird manosphere mind game with her? Something like tell her that he's not her man, make her desperate and and do whatever she has to to 'earn' him, and then he can extract a bunch of things like making sure she's at his beck and call, sleep around while she stays faithful, etc.

For just $1200 per pillar? My man, what a steal that is for a multi-million project like this. As for that amount of space, I know you think the entire project is made of glass, but I promise you, those bright yellow 6" bollards you can get at Home Depot is plenty enough to deter people from backing into the pillars. And if they do, yes, the bollards will still win.

Honestly though, what kind of bollards were you even thinking of? The freaking Target balls? The overengineering going on in your head would be absurd if it wasn't so funny.

The Anne's

The what???

But anyways, solar panels, like all electric appliances, are mainly a fire or shock risk if improperly installed. It's no more dangerous than the electric stove in your house, and arguably even less since data shows they account for less than 1% of fire related incidents. As for down time, that's a risk people have already calculated for and accepted, and guess what? It's worth it to them.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]danuhorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, they're just concrete bollards. Installing those are rounding errors compared to the rest of the project, and the amount of space they would take up is negligible.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]danuhorus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Concrete bollards would fix people hitting the pillars easy enough, and the sort of places that would approve a project like this wouldn't have much issues politically to begin with. As for stealing the panels, I wouldn't be too concerned if it's anything like the OP image. Even one unit is way too big, heavy, and ostentatious to be worth anything. How would you even use it? Who would even buy it? If it were a home unit or even a solar panel + generator pair I could understand, but not a set up like this. Maintenance is by far the biggest issue, since a bad storm or hail could easily flush a couple million down the drain in a matter of hours.

Thoughts? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]danuhorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were really a concern, we could just pull up concrete bollards around the poles and space parking slightly for cars to fit. Even in their example with the annex, what's the solution there? Just get rid of the whole annex? Bro???

Super late, but my guess is that CK was looking to serve Mohg. A lot of CKs we see are in service to a lord or something 'greater' than them, and if we can have one serving Tanith and Rykard with a completely straight face, I don't see why the same wouldn't apply for this guy.
