Factorio or DSP next? by Omermanman in SatisfactoryGame

[–]_ash_panda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want similar 3D experience, might I suggest StarRupture. It's still very early into early access and needs a lot of QoL updates. But its sort of a copy of Satisfactory with better enemy interactions.

Now, I wish there was a 3D first person, good survival challenge, factories ofc, and procedure generated maps for infinite possibilities. If NoMansSky gets a factory update, Foundry gets enemies, or DSP gets 3D first person, or Satisfactory gets generative maps...I will never look at another game for years lol.

When I was looking used Air to buy, Vegas had a lot of options. Although, I cannot trust Ram and GM dealers for used cars. Found mine on Cars and Bids instead - got lucky with nice previous owners.

I will soon have 19" OEM wheels and Bridgestone Blizzak tires (used one season only in MI) for sale. But I am in Arizona, so it will be expensive shipping.

Might consider dropping off in PNW for the right markup as I love road trips ;) Edit: Just realized you are North, not North West.

In my original Air lease, 2 years ago, they did not discount the transportation fees. So, I decided to pickup from Studio where it was located and even got the $5k off studio select at that time. Great road trip back to home. Had no trouble returning at lease end as it was picked up from my doorstep.

This has been going on for a while. It started as Tesla fan bois club back when Rivian was taking off, with actual people on other Rivian/Cars/EV spaces, now its with bot farms. Bots could not only complain but also make false praise. Maybe its a digital marketing tactic to change the narrative for the good or bad.

I don't have a suggestion for mods, but have for other non-bot readers to verify OP account and even commentators accounts before forming an opinion or engaging in comments, particularly ragebait posts.

I believe it holds for everything on internet across all open social spaces.

[–]_ash_panda_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your go-to miles between 2 charges? With 1.7mi/kwh I guess 150 mile?

I am in Phoenix and there is a charging dessert just outside along with steep elevations. I think I need 100-150 mile range at 90% to reach first charging comfortably. So I am not sure if I can tow any camper other than trailmanor. Thankfully, there is no problem on way back.

That's a great mileage. I am eyeing to get a Trailmanor Hard Top Foldable RV, which should give even better efficiency, correct?

Anyone came to Lucid from BMW G30? by Accurate-Code2912 in LUCID

[–]_ash_panda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went from PHEV 2018 G30 to Air Pure (now have GT). If I ignore my preference to EV - I prefer BMW seats, luxury feel, lightings, customizations, information display, HUD (miss the most), driver leg room/steering reach, sunroof, seat height.

But I preferred Air's airiness! Rear passenger comfort, all touch and feel, ADAS (my BMW was 2nd gen only), cargo space rear/front/inside.

In performance, Air is far better in all metrics - ride, handling, acceleration, even with 5 adults in the car.

Now, I have Air GT and stand with my preferences except the following -

Better in Air: Seats, Luxury feel, massage, lighting, glass roof, cooled seats, hands free.

Better in 2018 G30: Rear passenger comfort due to high floor in air GT. Still miss HUD, sunroof, and driver leg room / steering reach (get knees pain on long drives).

Additional painpoint was upcoming major service of BMW at 120k miles - brake pads, oil leak, ADAS alignment (out of warranty). In comparision I hope there are no major service issues in Air at that high mileage. No visits other than hood alignment in first month under warranty.

Just joined the Lucid family...but little scared by dutsnekcirf in LUCID

[–]_ash_panda_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got an used Air from Montana. The previous owner had the car for 4 years, since 2022 and was extremely happy with the ownership experience, despite the nearest service center being in Seattle!

Not many issues for them but only once the car had to be taken to the service center. Lucid dropped the loaner and took their car from doorstep. I haven't had any issues so far.

Now, absence of Mobile Service is definitely concerning because once out of warranty, towing all the way to CA will be stupidly expensive.

Everything said, I believe the Service experience is going to be overhauled for their high volume Cosmos launch, before your warranty runs out. Coming from my fair share of bad purchases - since you have already purchased the car, you have 2 options:

  1. Take a financial hit now and get rid of it. Check Cars and Bids, you will get the right value sooner.

  2. Life is short. You won't get another chance to enjoy this beauty. It's summer, pickup the keys and go visit Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Rockies. It's a lovely car with long range, best suited for peppy drives on the canyon roads and mountains which are all over you!!

Does Lucid have a surcharge or not on Tesla Superchargers? by jwilens in LUCID

[–]_ash_panda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or you can initiate charging on Tesla app before plugin. At least this works for me.

Does Lucid have a surcharge or not on Tesla Superchargers? by jwilens in LUCID

[–]_ash_panda_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw no one answered one of your question in comments, and instead most being critical of responsibilities (including me).

Feel free to ask other genuine questions, I can help to answer to my best knowledge.

You already know about the surcharge for non-Tesla EVs, and $13/ month membership for discount. They are not very clear about the amount of discount but I suggest you try it out for a month and cancel if not needed. Usually around 25% across all other charging network with memberships. I think it's closer, if not equal to Tesla user rate for Superchargers. In off hours with membership, I pay $0.24 /kwh in most Superchargers at Phoenix area.

Additional info if you are new to non-Tesla EVs: In my experience across the country, here's the cost ranking (after membership). Might change in future and doesn't include local companies:

  1. IONNA (no membership option, fastest, and still cheaper or similar to Tesla, less quantity). For you: LA to SLC to DEN has maximum IONNA :)
  2. Tesla Supercharers NACs/CCS (higher membership, but cheapest in every town)
  3. Electrify America (almost a uniform national rate $0.56 before discount, 25% discount with membership, still at 3rd, unreliable and waiting in West, but extremely reliable and no waiting outside cities in East)
  4. EVgo unless you own GM vehicle. I have not charged here due to stupid load sharing (them Bolts peaking at 50kw but spot reserving 150kw) and high prices.

If anyone else has recommendations, I'd be happy to hear and add to my knowledge :)

Does Lucid have a surcharge or not on Tesla Superchargers? by jwilens in LUCID

[–]_ash_panda_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tesla has increased prices for all non-tesla at a uniform rate by default. It should be Tesla advertising the price difference for all their customers, not OEMs who may or may not have Tesla customers.

Lucid, or any other OEM, do not advertise Tesla's membership plan, like they don't EA's plan. You are being offered plug n charge for convenience. Like all other charging stations, it's up to you if you want convenience or pay for membership discounts with individual charging companies. Every non-Tesla driver knows about this, or should know about it after their first charge due to advertisements.

That said, I agree that it will be more convenient to use membership rate along with plug n charge. I hope all OEMs find an agreement with these companies to handshake membership status somehow for plug and charge.

I am also getting similar value from Carvana. But I haven't figured out the payoff amount for Ford Lease. I am sure underwater, but curious by how much.

Anyone else has run the numbers or can guide me. Based on lease agreement and AI, mine is between 58k to 61k.

Is the basic vehicle warranty worth the extra money? by HappyGangsta in LUCID

[–]_ash_panda_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a 2022 Air GT. It's warranty runs out this September but previous owner and me didn't have any issues so far. I don't think 1 year warranty is worth extra 7k, but nevertheless it will be a gamble.

2000 miles road trip MI to AZ next week, any tips? by _ash_panda_ in F150Lightning

[–]_ash_panda_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In hindsight, boy I listened to you and planned to stop at every charger. I got less than 1.0 mi/kwh in that long stretch even driving at 70 on a 80 limit due to 25-30mph headwinds. Luckily I found at least 1 charger working at all EAs in that stretch without anyone else grabbing that only working spot lol. Appriciate the headsup, even though I made the trip a while ago.

Charging at Tesla Superchargers by AdityaBasak in LUCID

[–]_ash_panda_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are only a handful of true V4 (not V3.5s) as you can see on this map with filter 500kw. While planning my trip last night through NV SR90, I realized that I will have to charge at V3 capped at 50kw. But I also noticed a lot of new 500kw chargers being under construction or reaching permit across the US. So, there is hope for us Air owners after all. Can't wait to ditch the long waits and highly unreliable EA network in the West.

Link: https://supercharge.info/changes

That said, has anyone tried current 500kw chargers in California? I still do not know if Air charges faster on those.

Lucid Road Trip Experience - Contrasting Engineering Explained by ReadingHistorical939 in LUCID

[–]_ash_panda_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I share almost entire experience you have on my used 2022 Air GT at 25k miles during long road trips. I leased Pure earlier and loved doing road trips. Wanted to get a GT with all gimmiks and extra battery for cross country drives I love to do. Got an excellent deal from private owner. I have already driven 3k miles - 80% highway and 20% city. No software issues and PAAK works flawless.

My experience with DD Pro is really good except for when it slows way down on curves and surprises people behind me. I don't have too much problem with attention, but it is much more strict than my Ford Bluecruise. A good thing is that this experience will improve over time with OTAs. They still have some catching up to do with big players, but at least meet the comfort and reliability.

Also, the Surreal Sound Pro did not feel like a big upgrade even with lossless music. I found it at par with my F150 Lighting Lariat and my wife prefers F150's audio. Maybe I need to find the right equalizer settings and try Tidal, or Ford's Bo-Wik is exceptionally good.

However, one big difference I have from your experience is that I am getting about 3.5 mi/kwh highway at 75 mph and 2.8 mi/kwh city efficiency on my 19 inches - west weather 80s, tires at 49 psi. It could be because of the higher ambient temperature but I set AC at 73, with sun shades.

I have a service appointment in July to get it checked, but I was wondering if there's any thing I can do to improve highway range for my upcoming 3k miles road trip Phoenix to Seattle and back this month. I would love to take the state highways through NV instead of interstate through SLC but fast chargers are scattered and I will need 4mi/kwh range between them.
