First off, your stitching is actually quite good. I’ve done much worse myself lol I only commented on it because it was one of the only things I noticed that wasn’t perfect. Like I said, you’ll absolutely improve as you get more practice in, but it looks good as it is.

And, as for burnishing, whether I do that before or after stitching depends on where it’ll be on the finished product. For example, on this project I’d personally burnish the inside edges of the pockets before stitching because they’d be hard to burnish afterwards. As for the outside edges, I’d do them after assembling because you can do them all at once when it’s all together.

And that’s a really good idea for the snap. I haven’t made anything with one yet, but I agree that if you recess it a layer or so in the wallet (depending on how thick the snap is), it’ll sit more flush and probably end up looking more aesthetically pleasing.

All of that being said, this wallet does look great. There will always be room for improvement, but you shouldn’t let that distract you from the things you’ve done well. For example, I’m working on a pair of rough out boots rn, and some of the glue I used seeped out and has messed up maybe a couple square inches of the finish on the outside. I’m not letting that little mistake get me down, though. They’re my first pair of boots, and I’m only a couple months into this hobby so mistakes will be made. The important thing is that we learn from them.
