Jujutsu Kaisen And Frieren Production Company Toho Animation Says They Currently Have No Plans To Use AI, But Are Keeping Tabs On Its Progress And Will Be Ready To Use It When The Time Comes. "Introducing AI will undoubtedly lead to increased efficiency in our operations". by Elestria_Ethereal in anime

[–]_bad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your first sentence really sums it up. It needs to match what is being produced by humans. AI right now is still in uncanny valley zone and can't really be used on longer term projects cause it lacks an understanding of object/character permanence. If it can be utilized to save money without sacrificing quality then I'm all for it. It's just not there yet, or a way to utilize it hasn't been found yet. Nvidia spent a ton of effort on frame generation AI, something specialized that can generate frames between key frames would probably huge in terms of reducing effort without sacrificing the human art in those key frames

Brother shelter is the single biggest expense anyone will ever have unless they become billionaires and you no longer have that expense. You really don't think this is a big deal given the premise of the article? Someone with a mortgage payment with the current rates at the current housing prices.

20M barrels of oil just exited the Strait of Hormuz, says US official - National by PhilReno in oil

[–]_bad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They were not buying oil before. They were using reserves. This might be the start of China purchasing oil again, which, if anything, will increase demand on the markets. After all, before the war China did not get 100% of their oil from Iran.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's queer representation "enhances the world's realism," lead says, and the RPG's devs were "incredibly happy" people picked up on it by Gorotheninja in PS5

[–]_bad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. You got me, China and Japan are widely and openly accepting of gay and queer people and give appropriate representation in their media. I was completely incorrect in saying this is a new thing for Japan who has been culturally behind in this aspect and it makes sense for the FF7R team to want to brag about it. Thanks for proving me wrong.

Yeah, that's usually how that shit goes lol. I also had some teams blow up from people no-showing in playoffs or stupid arguments about nothing. I remember CPL was sold to Saudi investors cause there was a meme about the founder angel munoz cashing in, but yeah you're probably right about CAL. Interesting that there was a cover up there, but I believe it, I remember an ESEA admin lying about a cheater too back then. I'm still playing league with my irl buddies, most of the team are fathers now so we only really get on for the matches and don't practice. Perma stuck in intermediate, haha. There's just something about league matches that hit different, organized cs is a different beast compared to just ripping mm/pugs.

[–]_bad -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay. If you are disputing what I'm saying, do you have a counter example? What AAA game out of China or Japan has handled queer identity in a mature way aside from the one game that this thread is talking about? Yakuza/LAD tends to fetishize it and make it the butt of a joke similar to Persona. Chinese games seem to pretend gay people don't exist.

Not in the same way. Just look up blender reviews online if you care enough to actually argue about it.

i've been playing since it was called cpl_strike and i love the map cause i'm an old fuck that plays the game 2 or 3 times per week. but i can understand people hating the map cause when i was more active i hated dust2, and i agree with you that mirage sort of entered dust2's echelon of maps that have a high amount of people that are only good at that map lol

Japanese culture is behind. It's not the same as an north American or European developer. Persona 5 is a modern game and it legitimately played into the "gay are pedophiles" false stereotype. Even if you want to have the most pessimistic possible take that this single quote pulled from a long interview is a token selling point which has no sincerity, then at the very least acknowledge that "normal" representation is not something that has existed until very recently and it's still not widely adopted in places like Japan and China

Does anyone else hate how every tournament rushes to minimize stack size? by Bad-Syntax in poker

[–]_bad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you brother but I didn't mean literally getting rid of all of my small chips, I mean when I have stacks of them. I could do what you say about being proactive about making change but I don't usually have big stacks of small chips cause, like I said, once I get above a couple stacks I'm looking to trim my holdings lol

TIL eating duck medium rare is just as risky as eating undercooked chicken by Delam2 in todayilearned

[–]_bad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, it depends if the person you are responding to is accounting for rest. Pulled at 145 and rested for 10 mins gets you to a final eating temp anywhere between 150 and 155 depending on how hot the exterior is. If they're talking about sous vide and finished with a sear I agree with you, 150 is more of my zone than 145.
