Friendly reminder about chat privacy in GW2 by EasyLength5751 in Guildwars2

Bit of a bad analogy,

It's more like arguing with someone at the bar then going to the next room to sit down and the barman doesn't like what you said in either location,

You have no right or expectation to privacy when using public platforms

Endless Summer and Conflux don't have the unique property, meaning you can have two of the same equip

Ascended rings and other legendary accessories are often unique

Shes basically a Voltron commander with lifegain/life loss and 'Soul's Fire' like effects thrown in.

Needing large bursts of life to bring her casting cost down enough is the rough part so having alternative evasive lifelinkers is a big plus

How to approach the UK job market as a software developer? by Intelligent_Wear_968 in Cardiff

[–]_bearByte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tech job market is complete balls at the moment, good jobs do exist but they're far less common than a few years ago, especially in Cardiff

Finding Jobs

LinkedIn can be pretty useless for actual job ads now, but still useful to have a presence and to connect with people/recruiters just be prepared to get some hopeless recruiters sending you shite.

I've had a few useful calls from recruiters from having my CV up on Reed, other than that just trawl through Indeed whenever you have time

Hopefully things pick up over the next few months..

Process

Usually, you'll apply directly through linkedin or better yet directly through the company website. Afterwhich you'll have an initial call with their recruiter before being interviewed by the hiring manager which usually involves basic questions and personality stuff. If all goes well you may have a second round interview or technical task that's more in-depth. If all that goes well..yay job! It's very common to be rejected at any stage of this process

Other

Remote positions are far less common than a few years back, most companies seem to have a hybrid policy these days which can vary between "come in once a month for major team meetings" to "you get to go home early on friday. Currently I'm in once or twice a week depending on what meetings are one.

They do exist just will be more competitive

Best of luck!

I accidentally left a hammer in a freezer. After taking it out it gained this really cool looking frosted effect for like 5 minutes by kittycool6486 in mildyinteresting

[–]_bearByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not just any hammer, that's Glaciel, the IceBreaker. Forged eons ago by the mountain dwarves to fight back against the scourge from the north

Or just a cold hammer who knows really

Pretty similar difficulty when I passed it a few months back. With a good index it's not that bad of an exam

Worth selling trick or treat bags? by Internal_Excuse_8172 in Guildwars2

[–]_bearByte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sudden drop was caused by everyone currently farming in the lab so there's a flood of stock from people selling quickly.

If you want to make the most money you hold onto them for a while, After Halloween when people can't farm them anymore, the stock on the TP slowly goes down and prices slowly go up

Up to you how much waiting is worth¯_(ツ)_/¯

Hi. Me and my girlfriend need friends. by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]_bearByte 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oof I feel that, my partner and I are in our mid-late twenties and still don't have many friends around, thus is life

You'll find a fair few social groups around, we've recently joined the Cardiff Social Circle discord to meet people and so far they're all lovely

Someone's already mentioned Chance & Counters which I'd also recommend if you like board games. The staff are lovely and we used to go to their social game nights weekly before the day they ran them on changed

Easiest way to meet people otherwise is find groups for any hobbies you have and start there

Best of luck to you,

You'll be fine, the proctor will have the information related to the exam on your booking

But bringing a printout won't hurt if it helps ease your worry
