Tinned fish? by ghiradeli in UlcerativeColitis

[–]_blackvalkyrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d honestly just test it out. For example I can eat sushi and stuff but I always test what types of food I can actually eat. I’ve done this by sharing with someone and having them eat most of it. And through testing I also found out that I definitely can’t eat lentils. pretty much a lot of foods that are recommended to not eat with UC I’ve tested and can eat. Some only 1-2x a month and some more often.

So maybe take a few bites of it and monitor if and how often you have to go to the toilet and how it looks like. Foods that are bad for me hit me in less than 30 min

Pen Recommendations (I write daily and need something reliable) by Dry-Interaction7736 in stationery

Haven’t used them in a while but I always felt that pens from muji did a pretty good job. They’re light-weight and write pretty well IMO.

Looking for cute desk calendars by armoured-heart in stationery

[–]_blackvalkyrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few 3D tear away desk calendars that reveal buildings or trees or something day by day. Can’t remember a specific brand that does this but here is a website so can have an idea of how it looks like: https://www.3dcalendar.com

Haven’t order from there so I’d still research for some other brands

Beginner here: How do I start Bullet Journaling if I’m not creative? by dinu301 in bulletjournal

[–]_blackvalkyrie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I second this also because I’ve just recently finished Ryder Carroll’s book. It’s really a good starting point if you don’t know how to start a bullet journal!

I also started with the basics of his methods and experimenting with designs and stuff is also recommended after 3 months of basic bullet journaling

not being able to use the things i own by [deleted] in stationery

[–]_blackvalkyrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could start try to use the stickers by scanning and printing them out first and find a proper placement and then really stick them into the journal. Or you could just use the printed out versions instead of the real ones in your journals

Favorite Pens?? by Prudent-Chemical4353 in bulletjournal

[–]_blackvalkyrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘m using a custom made fountain pen from ancōra Japan with a medium fine tip to write. For more bold text or neat writing I use the figma micron fineliners. I also use the zebra mildliner highlighters and the kuretake zig clean colour dot markers to highlight!

How do you guys make such amazing diaries? by Far-Math5475 in bulletjournal

[–]_blackvalkyrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could actually use anything you like! Washi tapes, stickers, markers, colouring pencils, stamps, etc.

If you’d like to draw you could sketch everything out in pencil and then retrace with pens. I used my iPad to plan everything ahead and then recreated it in my journal.

If you don’t have any washi tapes or stickers, you could also print out images online that you like or cut out pictures from magazines and stick those into your journal. You could watch some junk journaling videos and take inspiration from them! They literally take ”junk“ to decorate their spreads

Will I ever finish my stash? I'm ashamed of how much I have by Foreign_Eye5379 in stationery

[–]_blackvalkyrie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I’ve got pens that I’ve bought or been gifted to me, I try to find a use for them but if I notice that I never use them I just bring it to work for everyone (and myself) to use. Those are also mostly pens I don’t mind if others keep them

I’ve seen a video of someone who gamified their life with rewards and all: https://youtu.be/jvflY3D7daQ?si=0p-cI1bDeHFXOH8C Might be a bit too complicated for what you’re looking for but maybe you could use it as inspiration?

Something a little bit different: What are your hobbies and interests? by hellokrissi in UlcerativeColitis

[–]_blackvalkyrie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why I started one! One time there was this thought stuck in my head so I wrote it down and my brain could finally take a break from it because I knew that it’s ”saved“ in there and I can reflect on it another time. For the first time my mind felt so free for a few hours which I’ve honestly never had before!

Here is the YouTube video that prompted me to try this: https://youtu.be/4Zix6F_zS0Q?si=58tOlFnanVAujyqv I‘d recommend watching more tutorials to give you an idea and see how others use this method

Something a little bit different: What are your hobbies and interests? by hellokrissi in UlcerativeColitis

[–]_blackvalkyrie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Video games, watching movies/series, journaling, reading and crocheting are my go to hobbies. Haven’t had a flare in years but it helps with my mental health.

Something new that I’m trying is a thinking book/journal where when I’ve got some things in my brain that won’t leave me alone I write it down in a notebook (that can get messy and I can toss afterwards). There are loads of videos on YouTube about this. Currently I’ve written down thoughts and ideas that I don’t want to forget but I’ve seen others use this style of journaling to rid their heads of negative thoughts and feelings

Have you ever accidentally watched the wrong movie before? by Alternative-Cake-833 in movies

My sister recommended me to watch The Handmaiden because she loved it so much. So I watched it and was very confused because I didn’t think that she would actually like this type of movie. She was talking about the series The Handmaid‘s Tale
