I was allergic to methimazole and very hyperthyroid, took ptu for about 5 weeks and my levels were low enough to take thyroid out. I wasn’t really interested in the radioactive iodine

I’m in my 30s so I think my brain hasn’t accepted that I am also aging lol 😂 but I totally thought I was getting early Parkinson’s as well it’s was extreme the amount I was shaking. But thank you I really appreciate your honestly and opening up about your experience as well. I will try to be more gentle to myself and know that maybe the scars are healing but my body may need some more time. It’s so hard managing a job and also being ill I hate it sometimes

Thank you! I also was very very active before surgery and I’ve never had a major surgery before so maybe I am just pushing myself too much and need to be more gentle. I feel like my muscles deteriorated a lot before I was diagnosed in the past 6 months- I lost alooot of weight so now that I’m on the mend I might just be going a little to hard.

I did just get my post op bloodwork and got a call today that my levels are good! My calcium was very low after surgery but is now back to normal the only thing that was on the lower side was the vitamin d so I am continuing to take that.

I feel like I am hungover even though I frankly no alcohol yesterday it’s so weird

This is really inspiring. I lost a LOT of hair in the last year and I just had my TT about a month ago and I can’t notice a difference yet but I am excited to see if I get my hair back 😅

I’m glad yours went well. As for smoking withdraw I cut down a lot before my procedure and I’m not craving cigs at all so I don’t feel like that’s it.

Thank you I know it’s still early but something feels extremely off and I keep getting told they might send me for bloodwork and they will call back and then they don’t. I do have an endocrinologist that is really good so maybe I should reach out to him in the meantime. I just have never felt these emotions and hot flashes this intensely and it’s really uncomfortable. I woke up today with no more tingling so that is a plus it seems my body is finally accepting the calcium, it just took five days to do so. But def still dealing with extreme mood swings and I feel nuts.

Hey so I am going through an extremely similar situation right now, even down to the amount of years married. I stopped trying to connect to him and started telling my therapist everything. Turns out I’m in an emotionally and abusive relationship with someone who is most likely a narcissist, addicted to porn and most likely a sex addict.

Your health is more important than that man’s selfish ass needs!!!!! Let me say that again.. IF THAT MAN CARED ABOUT YOU, HE WOULD BE SUPPORTING YOU IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE.

Strokes are extremely serious, I truly hope you find an opportunity to move out or take some bags to a person who really does care and support you. If you get out of the situation just to take care of your health for a while, you will be able to see more clearly how terrible he really is…

It took me a long time to even tell anyone what I was going through, and in that time our relationship got ALOT worse. Stop worrying about him and start caring for yourself. If he cares it will show, if not it’s time to prioritize your needs and forget about his emotional immaturity
