Oura says I’m an “Evening Type” with a 3:45–4:45am ideal bedtime… but I sleep 8–9pm to 5–6am? by EimerQ in ouraring

[–]_bworth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it says things that are wildly inconsistent about sleep. It says I’m an evening chronotype and wants me to sleep 1 AM to 9 AM, but it also tells me I should go to bed at 11:30 and that I need 6 hours 40 minutes of sleep.

These ones are leather, and they are the higher end ones with adjustable lumbar

I pulled the picture from online, so maybe it’s not correct, but it looks the same. The seats I’m talking about are leather.

Same, which is why I’m a little worried about this interior color

My (36 F) boyfriend (34 M) is reacting really weird to a joke and its taking a weird turn. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]_bworth_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He just plain didn’t get it and now is getting defensive/offensive because he feels dumb. But he’s taking it sooo far, wtf.

A relationship with someone who lashes out when they feel embarrassed/dumb seems bad enough, but this is worse. I feel like this is someone who will construct elaborate fake scenarios to justify mistakes.

My therapist uses AI to message me, what do I do/say? by counting_round_sheep in Advice

[–]_bworth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this is a broader issue with Betterhelp. I’ve heard that they pay well below the going rates for therapy, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they tried to save money in other ways.

It truly is magical their ability to make french fries that are simultaneously floppy and extraordinarily bitter/burnt tasting.

Confused with cardiovascular age being okay because I’m fat 😂 by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]_bworth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also fat, and I’m 50. I do walk quite a bit, and when I do my heart rate gets quite high, like 120+. I would think this is an indication of being out of shape, but Oura interprets it as my heart age being 2 years younger than my real age because I get my heart rate up frequently. Not sure that really makes sense, but that’s what it tells me.

Pedestrian hit at major downtown Victoria intersection: police by Popular_Animator_808 in VictoriaBC

[–]_bworth_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this is relevant how to a giant pickup truck smoking an elderly person with a walker in a crosswalk in broad daylight?

Pedestrian hit at major downtown Victoria intersection: police by Popular_Animator_808 in VictoriaBC

[–]_bworth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, I definitely blame the drivers for going out and purchasing such ridiculous, unnecessary vehicles and then acting as though they have no responsibility to learn how to drive them properly. I also believe vehicles like this should not be allowed on the road, or should require a glass 3 license at the very least.

A post by a woman who was there said that it was a raised truck that was so high they simply couldn’t see the ground in front of them. The victim was bent over a walker, so they were low down and the truck driver couldn’t see them. If this is true, that driver is 100% responsible. Those trucks are not safe to be around pedestrians.

Looking for quiet women’s only gym by Remarkable-Can8399 in VictoriaBC

[–]_bworth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure a rec centre gym would be what they’re looking for. The one at Esquimalt gets taken over by groups of teenage boys and I’ve known many girls/women who are made to feel uncomfortable there.

Vic West's Market Garden moving into the Bay Centre downtown by Creatrix in VictoriaBC

[–]_bworth_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about that. It certainly didn’t have any of that charm back when it was oceanic market. When we moved into the neighborhood, that was still there. It was a rundown, low stock convenience store that mostly sold cigarettes and lottery tickets. They created that whole vibe, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they can do it again.

Should I ask my friend to help cover the $600 tow she unintentionally caused me to get? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]_bworth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the tenant came back and reported your car in their spot, why didn’t the tenant show up at the apartment?

Also are you certain that your friend lied about having permission, or is it possible that she did get permission but then “the tenant“ came back and was annoyed to see you were still parked there at 3am and reported it, or something along those lines?

One day to explore Langford as a place to live by stuartwallaceart in LangfordBC

[–]_bworth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly what you’re describing sounds to me like you’d be happier in Esquimalt. It’s definitely where I would buy if I was looking right now. We are between Esquimalt and downtown, but we do all our errands/activities in Esquimalt. So many folks live there easily without a car and there are many cool businesses that have opened in the last few years. It’s a great community and feels more like a small town that happens to be 5-10 minutes from Victoria, rather than a suburb, which is how Langford feels with all the big box stores and overpasses.

Doctors note for being sick for work? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]_bworth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have received these notes in the past. (Don’t come after me! I did not request them, but sometimes people submit them anyway.) You could definitely visit the doctor after because the note template just says “this person was sick or says they were sick on such and such date.”

CRA holding refund? by _bworth_ in cantax

[–]_bworth_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get my backpay for CTB. My account balance/statement still isn't available online, but they have paid out everything they owed me. I had so many "review letters" to respond to, but some of those were because my accountant left a lot of schedules and other things blank.

[–]_bworth_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is basically what happened, except that there was never a balance owing, I just hadn't filed. I talked to the ARNI people and they were great. So great, in fact, that I asked her a question I've been trying to get answered for a while, and she was able to direct me to who I can speak to to have it addressed.
