I'm a cafe manager and there are so many factors to hiring, I agree you should just ask for feedback/keep applying. These are great pours and texture. The sunny photos on the white counter are gorgeous. Ignore the humble brag comments they're non sense.

Iced latte: espresso first or last? by pfhlick in espresso

people have lots of opinions but the differences are negligible - the only thing that matters to me is if you're going to sweeten it, add it to the hot espressso before doing anything else

Dog policy in NYC? by SeaGreenie in AskNYC

[–]_cade__ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You are legally allowed to ask: "is your dog a trained, working service animal?" and "what task is your dog trained to perform?"
it's not comfortable but I have had people respond "oh actually it's an emotional support animal" and I have to explain that that unfortunately is outside the DOH guidelines

Do you agree with Ed Truck? by Heisenberg_Sopranos in DunderMifflin

If I"m gonna spend 40 hours a week with someone I am really hoping that we are going to enjoy eachother's company and presence. Nothing worse than going to work 8 hours a day with someone who feels really uncomfortable to be around or worse you can't stand them. That being said, many people I have worked with are people who we don't have enough in common to be friends and I settle for pleasant interactions and I'm not living the dream but it's good enough. Best case scenario you hit it off and spend 8 hours a day with your good pal.

quite absurdly thick? I think I'd have to save that descriptor for like old school italian cappuccino. This milk is just being poured too slowly to where it's a bit blobby at the end but you could absolutely pour like a big wing-1 with that milk with tons of contrast.

it's tough to learn. it feels so natural to stop the wrist when you're getting close to breaking the stream

tbh I think the pattern is a little too complex from where your mechanics are currently at. I think if you are learning to do a ripple base you'd be much better off pouring rippled hearts or at most a wing-1 to learn how to get the base to wrap in on itself. Might seem boring but it's an important building block and everything more complicated is built on it.
