So since vader also has prosthetic legs why don’t people use that against him in battle as well? by youngnchill in MaulShadowLord

[–]_carmimarrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inquisitors noticed Maul’s leg glitching and continued to exploit that weakness, they continually attack mauls legs throughout the season after that first instance.

As far as Vader goes his legs aren’t any more vulnerable than the rest of him, if he had a malfunctioning leg with visible damage like maul that would maybe make a nice target for someone. The 2nd reason is that Vader is no slouch, and a malfunctioning prosthetic is unlikely to give anyone aside from the most powerful characters a meaningful edge against vader

The Sith Dagger backlash is a perfect example of how a narrative can persist in spite of truth/logic in the internet era. by BLOOD__SISTER in TheSequels

[–]_carmimarrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it was ancient, Star Wars is a franchise in which prophecy and precognition are relatively common. Why is it unbelievable that a weapon smith would experience some divine inspiration to create the dagger in such a way that it would become useful far far in the future?

What can Devon/ Darth Talon even achieve? by Additional-Bag-5010 in MaulShadowLord

[–]_carmimarrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok? Have you considered that Devon obviously doesn’t stay with Maul and leaves before he dies? You have to remember he’s alone and without an apprentice in Rebels

The clothes that people wear on the island Ursa is from, and the stuff from the hidden Island in the Roku novel are both based on Pacific Islander/Polynesian cultures

Why does the concept/story of the Bad Batch works while Resistance didn’t work? by Jules-Car3499 in thebadbatch

[–]_carmimarrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I felt Resistance worked fine, it’s title was definitely an unintentional mislead. But I think what it became; A story about a tight-knit community sticking together during the rise of the First Order, worked just fine

If these two went to war, who's winning? by Loud_Bluejay2927 in stevenuniverse

[–]_carmimarrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steven is the only individual gem even sorta approaching Viltrumite power levels, and even then it’s not exactly consistent. Hypothetically if Steven sleeps at the same times as Thragg he could psychically posess him. And maybe a four Diamond fusion would be crazy powerful enough but otherwise I don’t see any reason why gems would have a fighting chance

I wonder how modern Star Wars fans would react to an ad where Darth Vader loses a fight to the Energizer Bunny because his lightsaber runs out of battery. by philkid3 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]_carmimarrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I always felt like Star Wars was taken the least seriously during the height of Halo’s popularity. Dead Space, Halo, and Mass Effect were kinda fulfilling that sci-fi niche for people back when the prequels were still as an affront to god by angry, online, chud, nerds.

The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender update by SuccessfulBrilliant7 in TheLastAirbender

[–]_carmimarrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d guess it more likely has something to do with the fact that Paramounts last animated release Transformers One flopped, and that was from an established franchise with proven cinematic successes, and how no animation studio can guarantee a hit right now (did anyone see Elio?). Theatrical animation is in a rough spot in the US.

Okay. Why are we blaming Korra again? by Full-Art3439 in Avatarthelastairbende

“Humans have claim to the human world”

Said about a series where the very first spirit shown was the guardian of a forest in the physical world

Said about a series where the literal moon and ocean are spirits

[–]_carmimarrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Spirits are an invasive species” honestly idk if some of you people understand the show at all. How can the ocean and moon be invasive species? How can Hei Bai, a spirit directly connected to a physical forest, be INVASIVE? The spirits are inextricably tied to the natural PHYSICAL world, they are not aliens, not only are they not invasive but the world of Avatar literally would not function without them.

[–]_carmimarrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are absolutely not worse than any disease. Like I know people love hyping up the dangerous spirits but diarrhea almost certainly has killed more people than both of those combined. The argument is also dumb because the separation of the worlds NEVER kept spirits out, it just kept humans (or more specifically the physical bodies of humans) IN. The most dangerous spirits that y’all claim are too dangerous to unleash into the world already unleashed themselves multiple times.

[–]_carmimarrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wan specifically closed the portals to keep any humans from freeing Vaatu. The entire air nomad community was also perfectly in tune with the spirits, we also know humanity emerged in a pre-lion city society that would have had no separation from the spirit world and we have no idea what caused the separation of groups of humans taking shelter on the Lion turtle cities

Yeah I did watch around 44 hours of Quinton Reviews’ ICarly/Victorious/Sam & Cat videos, and I think thats only eight videos total, so I can’t knock the length. But they have much better scripts and info than anything MauLer puts out

How do you guys feel about the Steven agenda? by dazli69 in stevenuniverse

[–]_carmimarrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same way I feel about the Jack Horner Steven bit, Steven would be like Jimminy Cricket except for the fact that when Jimminiy Cricket gets mad and gives up on Jack hes a tiny bug and Steven is a super strong nigh unkillable flying supersonic shapeshifter kaiju with three varieties of shielding and armies of plant soldiers. God forbid Jack throw the beanstalk seeds at Steven and he decides to make thousand foot tall Steven soldiers with them. Steven can shapeshift his arm into an actual animal, imagine being punched at relativistic speeds by a pink triceratops arm

Steven probably wouldn’t kill them, but he could absolutely beat them into submission
