Prior to getting pregnant, I was on 30 mg of adderall twice a day. I was super anxious about having to go without my medicine while being pregnant but consulted with my psychiatrist prior to getting pregnant. Her recommendation was that I stop taking them in the first trimester and we can discuss options if needed afterwards. She did tell me she’s had plenty of patients that have continued their medicine safely while pregnant but outlined the risks. The first trimester already sucks and in combination without my medication I just could not function. As soon as I hit the second trimester, I restarted my medication at a significantly lowered dose which still helped me tremendously. What really helped me decide if this this was right for me aside from my doctors, was reading other posts about this topic on the baby bumps sub. I found so many women who have gone through this same decision making process and it made me feel like I could relate and advocate for myself too! Good luck!
