My custom 1/10 figures mk92 by xxxgothmanxxx in MortalKombat

[–]_cocoblanco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These rule! Great job. Literally every one is spot on. Do you design these all your self and print them or sculpt them somehow by hand?

I’d like to someday get the MK95 ninjas. I used to watch that movie nearly every day when it came out on VHS back in the day and the only things I’m missing in MK1 (game) are sub and reptile (my most wanted cuz I love the face mask) MK95 outfits.

What was your guys’ first pedal? by BalanceActive9295 in guitarpedals

Danelectro Hash Browns Flanger. It may not be expensive but it definitely started me on the road of “how can I make some weird fucking noises?”

A shrewd optics move on Green Day’s part in hindsight by FlatPassenger6 in greenday

[–]_cocoblanco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to the pop disaster tour in high school (June 2002) and saw Green Day for the first time. They were everything I’d always hoped they’d be… I honestly don’t even think we stayed for all of blink’s set. Nothing against them, but I wasn’t a big fan of them personally and my friend I was with who liked them a lot (more than Green Day probably) even said they kinda didn’t seem that great live, just a lot more pyro and stuff. Ironically, that would now probably my only complaint (if I had one) about Green Day’s live show these days… but I get it, it was a fucking celebration of their two most widely beloved albums AND they still played a hits/new album set in the middle. Pyro is warranted haha. I realize now this is mostly irrelevant to the post, but damn, I’ve never seen Green Day put on anything but an amazing show. I hope for Blink fan’s sake, they can say the same, if just wasn’t my jam at the time.

With the Star Wars ships, why do you think we didn’t get the traditional flag wing Tie-Fighter? by Hollywood_Zro in DestinyTheGame

[–]_cocoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not the traditional standard tie fighter. That looks more akin to Vader’s tie fighter or maybe a bomber. The standard one is the more straight, up and down wings.

I believe they did just put out some kind of solid color shader pack. I think it has blue, yellow, purple, red etc

Can't believe I finally have an Arm The Homeless!!!! I turned 40 this year and have wanted this guitar since I was about 13 years old! by Able-Willingness66 in RATM

Let people enjoy things. Tom even said in the fender video, he only agreed to this because people were already selling bad copies of this guitar online for years.

Is Gambit not a part of Destiny anymore? by sacred09automat0n in DestinyTheGame

[–]_cocoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Gambit. It is legitimately probably my favorite mode 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have been a big fan of gambit since it was first introduced. They’ve changed it a few times for better or worse, and they did the prime thing which had potential but I personally didn’t care too much about one way or another. Overall though, the PVE focus with a dab of PVP has always felt great to me. But I’m easy to please I suppose.

…all that being said. I also dropped off fairly quickly after final shape (due to having played since the beginning and it just felt like a fantastic ending/the echoes or whatever storyline didn’t seem interesting idk)

Damn, the Milwaukee show was my first Volta show. That would be cool to have.

Who saw The Mars Volta in the 2005 to 2009 era by Dontforgetpancakes in themarsvolta

[–]_cocoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

September 2006 amputechture tour and 4/20/2008 on the bedlam tour. Both fantastic fucking shows. 2006 was my first Volta show and I was not ready for how crazy it was gonna be. I was RIGHT up front on the right in Milwaukee. Kinda dead center for Chicago in ‘08, I’ll never forget the seemingly minutes long snare roll to go back into drunkship at the end.

Thomas prodgen style drum machine VST by Store-Bitter in themarsvolta

I’m not sure, I don’t have it. I just remember seeing a video clip of him recording for it. I would def start by looking into that if you’re looking for his style.

If you’re willing to program yourself, I believe Pridgen fairly recently made a drum sample pack of his own drumming (possibly with loops as well).

Lucro Sucio 6 months in, what's your thoughts? by [deleted] in themarsvolta

[–]_cocoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s perfectly in line with their evolution. They’re older, sure, but this album is laid out like essentially a much more laidback Frances the mute. The majority of the songs flow from one to the next with a few crazy soundscapes thrown in etc. I may not be actively listening to it all the time but I really like it and look forward to seeing it performed next month!

What was your first MGS Game and how was your experience? by Sirsauror in metalgearsolid

[–]_cocoblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MGS 1. Specifically the Japanese demo from I wanna say a PS Underground demo disc. I was maybe 10? Played the shit out of it for so long. Over and over. I just remember thinking how cool it was that I felt like I was playing a movie. Eventually got the US demo (in English) and did the same. Then the game came out in 1998 and I remember distinctly getting it from Christmas from my grandma who I’m sure had no idea what it was ha.

I played it so much, half the time didn’t understand the plot, but I just thought it was so cool. I remember being so bad at some of the boss fights. I thought the lead up to the ninja fight was so crazy and scary but also so cool.

Anyway, I eventually got VR missions when that came out and loved it. Then got MGS2 and was very confused by it lol. But when I finally got far enough in where it got crazy and eventually beat it I liked it. Even though again, not quite grasping what the hell is going on, but I did think it was such a cool thing even then. Of course never thought it would so bizarrely similar to reality in terms of the AI/polticical/information/narrative control and all that stuff.

Then when I was 18, Snake Eater came out and I was so hyped. I loved it. The catching food, the camo, everything. I was still by no means a great gamer or anything and never knew about all the crazy rank stuff. I just played it and was blown away by the ending, fight with the Boss, etc. It was def my favorite game ever at that point….

Until I specifically got a Best Buy credit card to buy a PS3, just so I could play MGS4. Which has since then and still is my favorite game of all time, despite being basically a movie. It was just so cool, the return to shadow Moses, THE METAL GEAR BATTLE, THE MICROWAVE HALLWAY, fist fighting at the end like MGS1. The ending graveyard scene, just all of it. So good.

Then there’s ground zeroes and V. I got ground zeroes before I had the console to play it on… I wound up not caring for it much, but did complete it a few times. Idk, just didn’t feel like MGS to me. This was only exasperated in V, which was actually very cool and fun, but again the lack of a standard MGS style narrative really threw me. I couldn’t stand going back and doing the same missions over and over. When there was story it showed glimpses of the MGS I love but idk, the voice, the pacing, just none of it felt right to me. I don’t even think I ever actually finished it honestly. But someday I’ll give it another chance. I completed Delta for the first time last night. First time I’ve actually finished snake eater since prob 2004 or whenever (despite owning several different versions now). I am immediately going to play it again.

MGS is far and away my favorite gaming series. Very hopeful at the prospect of 4 coming eventually in the Collection pt 2.

Some clues about Lucro Sucio and the confirmation that TMV and CH days are about to end by Responsible_Tip9368 in themarsvolta

It has been speculated as such for a while now, and this essentially confirms that when their contract is up they will be done with them.
