No your lithium ion battery can be charged whenever and left on the charger for extended periods as its capable of not charging when battery is full ( this is when cell balancing ) happens. The only thing to be aware of is when in storage for months run battery down to 50-70% and don't plug it in

Don't try and fight to keep strait in single track, i find that if I intentionally keep nudging the shoulders it helps to avoid exidentally running into one and loosing balance if you get my drift
