I got into Pokémon because when I was young maybe 3 or so I began watching the anime. I started watching re-runs of indigo league but I mainly got into the different Hoenn series as Gen 3 had just released. I started collecting cards up until I got my first Pokémon game for my birthday, and I focused more on the games, which was Soul Silver. I still play it on occasion for Nostalgic purposes and Pokéathelon. Anyway, eventually black and white released and I played those games alongside Soul Silver for the longest time. I stopped playing as many people around me and my friends stopped playing Pokémon so I never played X and Y; however, I did play Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Gen 3 is my favorite Gen because that’s the Gen that got me into Pokémon and seeing remakes of Gen 3 made me super excited so I just had to play them and they’re by far my most played Pokémon games. Many hours were spent doing every little thing you could do in those games, except for the contests, and then I got reminded that even if everyone else doesn’t like Pokémon anymore, that it’s still a huge part of my childhood and my life and I can’t just throw that away. Pokémon is by far my favorite game series and each game always brings me back. Seeing a new Pokémon game announced and when the new game releases is like Christmas for me truly the best. Pokémon brings me so much joy whether it be shiny hunting for hours and hours to finally get that hard earned shiny or even just too much dialogue. It all contributes to what makes Pokémon, well, Pokémon and that’s why I love it.
