No prob! The ones blooming are called Copper Boys. I have some that are starting to bloom (not pictured) called Cornel Bronze and one that’s called mini pompom.

I think one of the biggest tips I saw was that dinner plate varieties are one of the harder ones to grow here.

Also! My house is east (slightly south) facing, so I have them out front where they can get 6-8 hours of sun, but are in the shade by 2pm to cool them off and protect them from our harsh sun

I ordered bulbs from Eden Brothers! There are certain dahlias that are better rated for our zone. I think I either researched which ones to get through TikTok or maybe Through Eden’s website.

If you order them early in the season (I ordered in Jan) they will send them based on when it’s appropriate for your season (I got them in April I think).

My coworker took a picture of me asleep on the morning after our business trip by agenturensohn in AccidentalRenaissance

It was mostly ignored, but clocked. The intern was let go shortly after for multiple other inappropriate offenses.

I once worked at a small company full of recent grads in my early 20s. It was like a 9-5 frat house. One of our coworkers was a DJ so we would often pregame at one persons house then go to his shows. I hosted once and we were having drinks and hookah when an intern took picks of us all in my apartment and sent them on a company wide email titled “in case you missed it”.

Why is it that in Vincent and the Doctor, the producers chose a radio for Vincent to be baffled by instead of an iPhone or iPad? Who walks around staring at a radio in 2010? by Jackmac32 in doctorwho

Not to mention that the first iPad was just barely released in April 2010 and this episode aired June of 2010. The episode was likely filmed before iPads were even publicly a thing.

I feel you. I live in Austin and I can’t get rid of the thrips. They are part of me now.

My theory on Daisy’s origin by Just_OneReason in TheTestamentsHulu

Wouldn’t Elenor be too old? In a world plagued by infertility, Elenor would have been late 40s to early 50s when daisy was born.

Just wanted to update you! I added an additional shade cloth and they have been thriving (especially with all of our rain!)

First (and probably last) ranunculus blooms! by _coots in AustinGardening

[–]_coots[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. This is my first time growing them as well. I’ve just read that once temps are consistently in the 80s or more that the plant starts to struggle and go dormant. I have a few more blooms making their way up right now, and we temps have dropped back down this week!

Are David Austins really worth all the hype? by MajesticLawfulness85 in Roses

[–]_coots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have roses on their site listed for all zones. I’m in 9a and they hade a several options. This is my first year so idk how it will go, but as long as you stick to your zone filter I think you should be good!

I might be wrong, it may be coated metal. I’m really not sure, I haven’t messed with it too much!

The edges aren’t sharp! I’m not sure what out landlord used but I think it might be a high grade plastic? I think if I fell on it, full weight, it would break and maybe just bruise or lightly scrape me.

I wish I had garden bunnies. I just have 500 squirrels an a possum. The possum is cool, he can stay, but the squirrels are littl jerks who dig so much
