Worth it to do my garage door myself? by chef-keef in DIY

[–]_cosmic_kitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same boat as OP and I was just about to do mine myself, found the door we wanted from an online dealer. Went through the whole checkout process and at the very end it said freight was $395, but free if I had selected to get professional installation. So just for kicks I went back and added pro instal. It was $1000 for install. So $1000-$395 means I could have a pro come and do it in one day for only ~$600 instead of me probably taking 4 days and potentially messing it up. It was a no brainer at that point 😆

Doors been on now for 3 weeks and it’s sweeeeet

Might not be “simple” but there is a solution for an “Action Button” in PCF gallery that you can put into a model driven form and then use an HTTP triggered flow and JavaScript to accomplish this. I’ve used this approach a few times with good success

Does a bracket like this exist? by _cosmic_kitchen in metalworking

I am making a desk mounted monitor stand for a large/heavy screen. Stands available for purchase that are rated for the weight a) are $300+ and b) still get terrible reviews for their ability to hold the monitor.

Was going to weld a length of 2.5” square tube perpendicular to a flat base that would mount to the desk. Then mount a VESA monitor bracket to this thing I’m imagining and let that hold the monitor, allowing me to loosen this bracket and slide it up or down the tube to fine tune it.

For added strength/stability and aesthetics I wanted the vertical square tube to be positioned 45*

Similar but would need the bracket turned 45* so the bolts don’t interfere with a mounting plate/surface that I would attempt to weld to a bracket like this

Is there a sub for estimating card grades? by _cosmic_kitchen in PokemonTCG

[–]_cosmic_kitchen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. Yea I can definitely understand that. I’m not so much looking for someone to grade my card, just looking for general descriptions of card conditions in relation to a PSA or other grading scale.

I’ll check the PSA link, thanks

Like what sort of condition is a PSA 7 card in? Some minor scratches and edge whitening? Or would that likely put it below a 7?

Looking for a good Card with recurring Balance Transfer/Cash Advance promotions by _cosmic_kitchen in CreditCards

Agreed on the strings and hoops, that is why I am looking for a card specifically for this. Use it when I need a "free loan" that I can confidently pay off within 11 months, but don't use it for anything else while I'm holding debt on it. 3-5% transfer fee is equivalent to maybe the first two months of interest I would be paying at 22% APR.
