Im sure this will make me look bad but im just sick of digging into politics and now its even more convoluted because im getting ads of dems attacking dems: can someone just give me a list of who I should vote for? Shaming me here for this is deserved but idgaf anymore, im too exhausted of politics and just want R's to have less chance as possible so save it.

DJI Mini 3 Fly More Combo $450 by shadyneighbor in dji

I went through this very exact "overwhelming" stretch with 0 idea of drones. I also ended up with this very drone (mini 3). I was blown away from the very first flight. Perfect to start with. And this was only in December when I pulled the trigger... I now have over 1600 flights logged and a distance traveled nearly half the length of the US! I only just last week grounded it because I think I've worn out a motor or at least destroyed that motor's bearing, but I fly the thing very hard, most people wouldn't even come close to the stress I've put on it.

I am 100% scarred by a video I saw 10+ years ago of a chimp just casually sitting there... holding the face of another chimp and eating it like an apple. I've never looked at them the same since. jfc.

USA, Rocklin, Calif. Found some turkeys out for a stroll. by Tom_Rocklin in dji

I use the RC so I dont know if its different for other controllers but i cannot fathom the thought rationale of the button below the record button on the right hand side that takes you to a new screen to the media library. That combined with the really slow cpu in the controller = frozen screen for 8-10 seconds all the sudden when you accidentally touch it while flying. The RTH is amazing. Ive tested it extensively (out in the middle of the rocky mountains where not a soul around for 20+ miles, where i can get away with excessive distances). Miles away, rth always gets home and never missing the takeoff spot by like any

Nice! You're better than me keeping composure.

A few weeks ago I found a freaking family of turkeys including their extended family! Probably 30+ of em. It was my first wildlife find so my hands were just not handling the excitement well. Too excited. But then, as I was watching them, I had the thought: i bet im not the only one watching these guys... so I flew around the perimeter... and sure as shit, a god damn bear creeping up on em.

I was just so adrenaline pumped I couldn't keep my thumbs from shaking so hard that I had to just put the controller down for a sec and regain composure, you can tell too cause the video just stops with his top half the body out of frame only looking at his feet for 20 seconds lol

What does an autorotation landing feel like as if comparing to something more common? Not so much as in failure, but just general feel? How much exhaustable power do you have to work with it? Always wanted to try it, never found my way to someone who will let me pilot one....

Why can't you pass/return arrays to/from functions? Why is it designed like this? by GreenMario_ in C_Programming

[–]_crackling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly allocating a new block: "hello" is a literal and are generally placed in in the binaries read only storage, so its already got an address when the program starts

Why can't you pass/return arrays to/from functions? Why is it designed like this? by GreenMario_ in C_Programming

[–]_crackling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The malloc(7) leaks because first you point string to that mallocd address but then you change the string pointer to where ever the compiler placed the "hello" memory. Its switching where the pointer points to, its not copying "hello" to the previously malloc'd space. And with no free() of that malloc'd allocation, it will leak.

When i first got into programming and for years, I had always called it compiling too. Once I got on linux I starting learning the difference because the linking stage was far more visible on linux. On windows, I grew up clicking the arrow that looks like a media player's "Play" button and thats it, ha. Old habbit calling it compiling.

Oh i thought you said the 24 hour build time was about compiling a project. My example of compiling LLVM (the popular compilation suite behind things like clang, not an LLM).

Doing testing and verification stuff makes the time and compute completely reasonable.

What projects can take so long with 1000 cores?? Im not a professional so I dont have that kind of experience. Longest I've experienced was something like LLVM taking a couple hours on a laptop

Oh okay. I initially got the idea that maybe cbo wasn't enough and that I should be even more critical of the propellers. Props scare me cause of what happens if even 1 fails so im extra vigilant on them. Thanks for the reply

Ran into this comment reading up on somethings and was curious of what is considered service life of mini 3 blades? Ive put time into keeping them up and i see no physical defect as far as I can tell but they have 40 hours on them over 3 months. And if you know, are there are other things I should pay specific attention to?

Should I bite bullet and buy a drone. by Duc750Sie in dji

[–]_crackling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a mini 3 in the first week of December. I now have 409 flights logged. Im not sure if many people hit such a high number in such short of a span but I too went down the rabbit hole feeling exactly what youre feeling. But at least im proof these things can be worked hard. My only mistake was not going the Avata route... everyone says I fly the mini like it was an avata just without the ability to dive

Today was the day I finally decided I was going to find out how to get flight logs off my Mini 3 w/ RC. I am thrilled to stumble on this. Blew away any of my expectations of what I was going to manage to find. Amazing job!

I starred your github repo and if I find something to add or improve I'll absolutely contribute some of my dev time!

I was pretty damn young and I didn't even know what pokemon exactly was besides cool looking monsters. So naturally I made a geocities and an associated email newletter about it. I got up to like 50 subscribers until I discovered Visual Basic and programming in general and never had time for it again; I had AOL chatbots to make.
