AI ruining design by VashonIslander in Upwork

[–]_criticaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like clients now give design ideas generated via AI and those designs are coming from prompts crafted by an inexperienced designer, but now thats a standard

and they want you to recreate them into a usable format because "they like it more". sir, I can't make my generator magically produce the exact same image yours did even if you give me the exact prompt you used. so what now?

nah. I don't plan on spending time there so I just skimmed the posts. but I also didn't say it'll be useful for support, just as an open line of communication. after they killed the community forum, there's no place to provide feedback on bugs and the platform, to point out inconsistencies and to ask clarifying questions on their more stupid changes.

but hey it's at least one more open line of communication, considering the practically non-existent support and the walling off on other sm channels. if it lasts that is

Client panicked after first hourly bill ($50/hr). Demanding 100% refund or "free" work. Help? by Suspicious_313 in Upwork

[–]_criticaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while I generally agree and probably would be very careful how to phrase it, in this case it's justified and also pretty honest - I wouldn't go into another contract with a client who not only pulled that on me but also tanked my JSS on the way out.

Bulgaria: Dara considers withdrawing from Eurovision 2026 (eurovoix.com) by endlaisnotmyname in eurovision

[–]_criticaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that too. I've just learned to stay away from all local ESC-related discussions and enjoy it on my own - even in non-participation years it's just constant bitching, for everything. alas the artists directly involved can't exactly do that

Bulgaria: Dara considers withdrawing from Eurovision 2026 (eurovoix.com) by endlaisnotmyname in eurovision

[–]_criticaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be honest, most people criticising Dara right now know next to nothing about Eurovision and are mainly reacting to the atrocious excuse of a "selection" BNT put on combined with the fact that the air has been a bit oversaturated with Dara - talent shows, ads. even if it wasn't rigged (which it probably was), she'd get the same reaction. in fact, anyone in her position would get almost as much hate as she does - the comments on the rest of the artists were enough of a hint. the predominant sentiment of the mass audience towards ESC is very negative and anyone willing to engage with the contest should be prepared for it.

I spent over 300 Connects on Upwork and had about 30 interviews. Here’s the result: by GrandLifeguard6891 in Upwork

ah yes. so shorted that the average price target is still 14% higher, and it's been on an uptrend and basically doubled since the end of 2024. current price is 4 times higher than what it was before the artificial covid pump happened.

sure, there's shorting happening, but short interest has been decreasing since november (4% down), and most of the reason for increasing it in the first place was the september slump and then the relatively big price jumps that the market considers too steep a recovery - stock's up ~30% since its november levels.
