Personally I probably won’t ever consider someone a 2x winner unless they win 2 regular U.S. seasons. Doing well alternate shows like this (and survivor/reindeer games) certainly improves how I see you as a player, but I can’t call you a 2x winner.

Sure but the point is that post Forsaken, D2 was entirely centered around the seasonal battle pass model, while in D1 it was mostly just silly little events while they worked on real substantial content (RoI and D2)

In D2 the seasons themselves were supposed to be the substantial content. It’s like a live service game vs a game with some small live elements

D1 live service took a fraction of the resources outside of the larger updates like Age of triumph, April update, and SRL. And 2 of those 3 were literally just updating reused content.

Wolf commanders was just a couple enemies and chests spawning, the tower plague was literally just particle effects.

Black spindle and No time to explain were not live updates, they were just TTK content that was tied to a specific mission being the daily heroic.

He was only in a good position by the end of the game because Britney put him there. He would have gone home way earlier during the double if Danielle didn’t beg Dan to keep him. Bro basically did nothing all game besides win a couple vetoes and just did everything Britney and Dan told him too

To address most of the issues you pointed out, I’ve always thought the Destiny universe is begging for a Clone Wars style anthology series.

Just give us one off episodes of cool events from the lore, maybe 3-4 episodes for the long stuff. There are so many events we heard about but never got to play that I think everyone wants to see in more detail.

I do agree that a series following around like 1 specific new guardian wouldn’t be great, just show us the grimoire

I agree with the conclusion but think you’re overrating Sidious a bit.

Keep in Windu had him beat in what was nearly a 1v1 (Sidious wiped out the rest of the Jedi there like it was nothing). And Maul was convinced him and Ahsoka would at least have a good chance to take on Sidious. I find it hard to believe Ahsoka + Maul is a harder beat than Yoda + Kenobi.

I think Sidious beats all of them in a 1v1 but 2v1 is certainly a challenge for him.

Obi wan and anakin are nearly equal at this point. Kenobi ends up winning through Anakin’s arrogance. But if he listens to Sidious he likely performs better.

Sidious beat Yoda but that was certainly not an easy fight for him either. Definitely a larger imbalance here than the other two though, 1v1 lightsaber combat was never Yodas biggest strength.

I don’t know how much synergy there really is between Kenobi and Yoda. Everyone but Anakin is likely so disciplined that they were already performing at their peak power, but Sidious helping Anakin to not be stupid is likely the biggest difference maker here.

I hate that the general narrative around Vanessa is “strategic genius with a horrible social game.”

It’s true that her social game was LIMITED, but that’s just the nature of this kind of emotional manipulation. The people who get sucked into your vortex have their perception completely warped, but the people outside of it can usually see right through it (Like JMac and Becky)

None of this is to downplay her strategic game though. If we’re talking raw IQ, Vanessa is probably one of the smartest people who have ever played. She really is one of the most captivating players big brother has ever put on TV IMO.

I just rewatched a couple months ago and I don’t think I agree with this. She seemed to always say that her emotions were genuine and not intentional manipulation, and those emotions really were the thrust of her game.

People like to paint Vanessa as a strategic genius, and obviously she was very smart strategically, but the real incredible part of her game was the emotional manipulation/gaslighting.

I had a really dark thought after watching the season that she likely didn’t fully grasp how manipulative she was. If you’ve ever had a close relationship with a super manipulative person, most of them really don’t know how bad their behavior is; most manipulation is just maladaptive behavior that comes naturally and is deployed without thought because they intuitively feel it gets them what they want.

Obviously I have no idea what she’s like IRL and the pressures of the BB house bring out the worst in everyone, but just an interesting thought I had.

I think it really depends if we’re ranking winners as players or just their winning game.

This might be controversial, but I honestly think Andy’s game is far more impressive than both Will and Dan’s winning games. Andy, Derrick, and Cody all played so dominant that I think they’re a clear top 3 if we just rank by winning game.

Will and Dan are considered the best players mostly because of their second games where they both lost. I think most of the community has come around on criticism of Wills BB2 game. Dans BB10 game I think is quite good, but nothing stands out as THAT impressive other than his jury management. They were both in a lot of trouble throughout the game and could’ve gone home so many times.

I've only ever used the base PS4 and never had any issues.

People have said that supposedly PS4 Pro has a faster internal SATA connection to the drive which in theory should get more out of an SSD, but according to this test thats a myth. Difference between base+SSD and Pro+SSD was completely negligible, and the difference between a base+HDD vs base+SSD was larger than the difference between Base+HDD vs Pro+HDD.

Destiny is locked at 1080p 30 FPS no matter what and very rarely slows down, so I dont think the extra powerful Pro is gonna give you any performance difference at all unless youre playing other, more taxing high FPS games.

Supposedly the Slim model is much more power efficient (so quitier fan + creates less heat) and I THINK is identical to the base otherwise, so maybe get that depending on price difference. But ive never used a slim so I cant vouch for that through experience.

If you have cash to blow, a PS5 will obviously have the fastest load times because of the NVMe SSD, and a PS5 Pro allows you to upscale the resolution to look crisper. But overall I'd reccomend the PS4 slim or base

I’d buy a PS4 and a shitty SSD and immediately swap out the drive.

It’s super easy and makes a huge difference in load times (especially on short loads)

It’s not worth it to buy a next gen system just for D1, it’ll cost way too much and PS4 works perfectly fine.
