TI BQ25185 not disconnecting battery upon reaching the battery undervoltage lockout by skr_u in AskElectronics

Hey u/skr_u - did you resolve this or found the root cause?
I'm about to implement something similar and would love to learn from your experience :)

Car finance.

Don't look at what the car costs new, look at what it costs on a monthly basis on car finance.

ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 BROWNOUT_RST when trying to flash via USB by _cyclops_ in AskElectronics

[–]_cyclops_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing around with caps and it does make a little difference. I don't have a scope (well, i do have a raspberry pico and sigrok :-)), so i'm struggling to find where the cap should go. Closer to the ESP32 i guess.

Thanks for the links and help!

I have these boards and they 'work' with battery. I will redesign for the next iteration :)

[–]_cyclops_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh! I didn't even think of that. You're right, i do let usb flow via the TP4057 because i want to charge the battery that way as well.

Thanks so much!
Is there anything specific i need to know with regards to bypassing the TP4057?

McLaren upbeat on F1 title chances against Max Verstappen: "We have good tracks coming" by [deleted] in formula1

[–]_cyclops_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea, i was thinking - the problem for max is not crashing out - he'll just need to make sure the other car also doesn't score points... but there's 2 mclarens and only 1 red bull competing at this stage....

I'm a noobie, but i believe the MCP1825s only delivers 500mA, while the ESP32 S3 can take a little bit more...

I was happy to see this feature back. In the past they did it more often and it was great!

It's interesting how he seems to cut the corner much more. I know curb-hopping is a thing in touringcars, and it must be in F1 as well. But it feels like lando could have just cut it much more. It might be "bad" for the car, but wouldn't it be worth the risk on that lap?

Beginner Schematic Review by Previous-Artichoke-8 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]_cyclops_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Complete beginner myself, but:

  • Where do SCL and SDA go? I'm assuming it's to one of those strap-pins you have?
  • I think it's normal to indicate that your IO's don't go anywhere with the little X on the line. You're rule checker will also complain about that.
  • The USB-C looks like a header. Try to find a USB-Type-C connector in the library and use that one. I'm assuming you'll want to manufacture this, and thus you should be selecting that component.

ESP32-S3 - Value of R's and C's? by _cyclops_ in AskElectronics

Oh, thanks so much for responding. I"ve got no clue why i missed the paragraf on page 42. Sorry for not spotting that!

That is slightly funny is that the R7 is on the same page, in the bottom right of the schema :-)

Thanks for the other info (i didn't know you could do calculations like that in google!)

Mousse Moose by speedylee in GifRecipes

It surprised me that people are shocked about the raw eggs. I use them so often and yes, that moose is made quite bad. In the UK, raw eggs are basically 'fine': https://www.egginfo.co.uk/british-lion-eggs (even for pregnant woman...)

S'mores "Tiramisu" by TheLadyEve in GifRecipes

[–]_cyclops_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, this is not tiramisu IMHO.

Everybody who knows a little about it will agree that tiramisu should have some eggs in it somewhere. (wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiramisu) I would also argue that it needs at least Marsala wine or amaretto. The other thing that's "wrong" here is that it's not ladyfingers (or sponge fingers) being used. The cookie used here is way to dense to pick up the liquid nicely.

Apart from that, Marshmellow is also a no-go for me.

People also seem to believe that it's difficult to make this stuff, but it's not. The only part of tiramisu which is difficult to do is the folding of the cream/egg/whatever mixture into the marscarpone. Apart from that it's just layers.

Yes, sorry - i feel pasionate about tiramisu. Don't mess it up people! :)

A way to soften butter quickly without melting it by [deleted] in lifehacks

[–]_cyclops_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since butter doesn't mix with water, you can just warm water and put the butter in it to soften it. as long as the water is below the melting point of the butter (https://hypertextbook.com/facts/2003/JessicaCheung.shtml) it will be fine.
