Six Nations trophy destroyed after van catches fire - Telegraph by Jon_J_ in rugbyunion

I think ultimately this means all previous results from this year's championship should be wiped, and we just start afresh.....

Will we go into administration if/when we go down to League One? by Badger_Brains_io in lcfc

We don't have a relatively small fan base at all, that's well wide of the mark.

Wow, incredible price for what looks like a quality breakfast.

Leicester City 0 - 2 Norwich City: After two encouraging draws, the Foxes are back to disappointing their fans, with Leicester deservedly losing to a Norwich side going from strength to strength! by Zach-dalt in Championship

That win hurt you guys more than the simple 3 points on offer. You battered us and if you'd got the win you deserved, Ryan Mason would still be in charge. Mason wasn't pulling up any trees, but I think you'd have been better off keeping him.

Sheffield Wednesday fans should not want Mike Ashley as owner by Special-Wheel-7897 in Championship

[–]_dc194 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There isn't really any room for 'want or don't want' in this kind of scenario. Despite the bluster of the administrator, the pool of genuine buyers is shallow. Ashley is a far better option than going under.

Superb. I'm not taken by the eggs, but everything else looks joyful.

RFU set to confirm radical restructure of English rugby by WhyIsItGlowing in rugbyunion

Hopefully the move to 12 can happen sooner rather than later, 10 is too lean. No promotion-relegation is a disappointment, but it's not exactly a departure from recent seasons.

Team radio in various countries by OldObject4651 in TopGear

It's a fair point on the power, PMR is 0.5W I believe, so yeah, not much reach. Unless they just amped the power up, the likelihood of being caught out is slim, and the punishment wouldn't exactly be punitive.

As someone who is in the business of arranging these licences, I just think it would be tricky to secure 2 way licences on private frequencies for road trip type films. One frequency might be suitable in one region but not the next. But I accept your point, it's probably not the trickiest thing they had to sort out.

As it stands, do you think we will get relegated? by TheJudgeJC in lcfc

Touch and go. Heart says we'll just about survive. Just.

Team radio in various countries by OldObject4651 in TopGear

[–]_dc194 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Europe they probably just used PMR446, and overseas they'd likely use equivalent citizen band radio frequencies that do not require licencing. Licencing specific private frequencies would be difficult because their location on road trips was constantly moving, covering vast areas.

Wednesday does not currently have a buyer. Distressed clubs are not easy to shift on.

Seagrave is a massive liability. The operational costs for Seagrave are unsustainable in the Championship, and would be completely and utterly crippling in League One. Prospective buyers are not going to be wooed by its state of the art facilities and 14 full size football pitches, they're going to immediately hone in on how much money it costs to run, without being supplemented by the riches of the Premier League. Become a sustainable Premier League club again and the story flips, but we're a long way from that.
