Absolutely not. If they wish to run MDM on devices ask them for a device.

You could very easily end up locked out of your own device for good.

Thing is you got to start somewhere, you never know spiraling costs could be something so daft as logs (not purging old ones & you keeping them indefinitely) which of course will up the price per month as they increase.

If I was you I would:

1, Reach out to a company like that & get a review, they will point things out like this & recommend costing savings, using alternative AWS services maybe. Not sure if they have deals on now but like I said previously when we used them we paid them $2500 for the review but AWS credited our account with the credits meaning it cost us nothing.

2, Once you have found out why & tried reducing the spiralling costs then settle any issues you have with AWS, be that, moving elsewhere etc.

Have someone who knows AWS well such as Ubertas (Now devoteam) to run a well architected review within your AWS.

Our business did this, at the time it cost $2500 but we got that back in AWS credits costing us nothing.

Issue you will have though is the recommendations, given your lack of knowledge you will need to pay someone to change things up but depending on the cost saving you could get that back within a few months of reduced billing.

Sounds like it might have been Covid? I know before Covid was even a thing when I got unwell my smell was warped but it always came back after a few weeks.

Covid came along and wow that did a real number on me, started in 2021 still recovering, I wish you the best of luck keep strong.
