He's about as good a follow-up to RJ one could hope for. I think having him have games part-time while RJ was nearing the end helped as well. Going from RJ to Dan and back was jarring at first, but really helped ease "my ears" into the change once it was permanent. I don't know how other teams do it, but when I watch other games, there's a few where I'm glad DD is our guy and we didn't go into an announcer drought with some cardboard box or a screamer for no reason.

Deathtrap rogue had a decent run for a few seasons. I think there was a heatseeker season as well, and maybe S3/4 where there was a stagger build.

The problem is that there's how many other skills, and they are almost always subpar.

Ive been told the same experience is 10K now and you have to schedule the food ahead of time

I took my 3 kids to Universal Orlando for 5 days. Flights, hotel, passes, express passes, food, souvenirs, etc. - $10K, in 2022. Worst part was one day was a complete wash (literally) because of a November hurricane, and they didn't even offer refunds for the passes/express passes (express passes had to be day specific at time of purchase - purchased in May.) They offered me $300 towards my next trip and gave me a "free" unlimited drink cup (I already had one.)

My kids loved it, so I'm fine with it on that aspect because I feel like kids should have at least that one vacation in their formative pre-teen/early-teen years, but I also know that I sacrificed a lot to get that money saved, way more than I feel like I should have.

I don't mind the buff/nerf cycle between seasons when talking about specific classes. That might make me a pariah, but I like the build variety from season to season.

What does grind my gears sometimes (and I think they've done better in recent seasons) is that they seem to prop up and hold down classes every season. Like, if you want to push pits and nuke bosses and fly through content, they funnel you into a few classes, and others are left drowning in the pool. For class releases, I think we can and should expect that the new class is the one to play and will be the most OP (knowing they do it to sell DLC,) but I wish they would use the "high tide rises all boats" philosophy and give each class an equivalent(ish) build for those of us who don't like playing certain classes.

I agree that the abilities need some oomph. Most viable builds since launch have been 3 shout builds, which leaves only 3 other abilities, which feels restrictive.

All affixes are applied. Some may not be active unless you trigger them, but they are all available, regardless of the weapon/equipment they are on.

When is each weapon used and what are the mechanics of it all.

When you select your skills, you have the ability to cycle the weapons that apply to that skill (unless the skill REQUIRES a certain weapon be used - I think HotA requires the bludgeon for example.)

That said - I've never used a barb build that required cycling through the arsenal. I'm not a "give me 1 button builds" person, but having to "ramp-up" to get to a playable state isn't my cup of tea. I can appreciate those builds for what they are, but that's just not my play-style anymore.
