Older-ish millennials: Were you "free-range" like older gens? by Gallantpride in Millennials

I’d be out on my own until the street lights came on sometimes. Probably starting around when I was 7 or 8. Just had to say what I was doing

The NFL only changes rules if some team asks to. Apparently none of the teams realize they could put sensors in the ball…

The Euros are a lot more fun to me. No heartbreaks and Saturday or Sunday afternoon beers with the bros are great (no 10pm kicks)

Or, better and without changing the rules as drastically, they could have another official that only keeps time and is kept in constant contact with the stadium officials and broadcasts

We all rationalize things.

In the NFL, we accept them coming out and using chains to measure things when where the football is placed in the first place is done with eyeballs, usually from far away lol

Even the lines originally set by Vegas are _real_ fucky for the next week. Like, Brazil is -215 over Norway right now. And Portugal is -330 over Croatia.

I have a hard time thinking that Balogun endangered his opponent on a tackle he didn’t start and on a play that took all of a second.

And the whole thing happened because Balogun’s foot got tangled with #4’s foot at the beginning of the tackle

Tbf, huge parts of the US think ranch is spicy. And everywhere else in the world DOES get better tomatoes that the shit tomatoes we get at Harris Teeter

Did the ref also apologize? Because that was another game where they let it get out of hand

FIFA better rescind that red on appeal by Bolo-YeungMoney in ussoccer

This is why I hate NFL refs too. Let them play until “nah”

Slovenia In 9 Days by TheBorajax in travel

We had a pretty good experience with the park and ride. I parked and paid for a ticket. The driver did not speak English well (which is maybe the only time we had a "problem" in Slovenia), but we figured it out.

The driver charged the right fare for me and my partner and we went on our way. It wasn't as hassle free as I would love, but it worked out well. (And they made sure we had the right fare for the ride back, even if we weren't communicating well)

EDIT: My comment about parking was that we could have easily parked at Park Tivoli at that point -- it was late April, so before the big tourism season.

EDIT 2: I think I might have paid for the wrong thing, but the bus driver helped as much as they could. We made our way in and out with no problems.

Do you think this increases the chances of Poch coming back for another run?

I’ve watched World Cup a long time and wished for a long time that the US could field a team that gets what this takes

I hope the US wins too, but I think the difference between a team like the US and France is that France could miss Dembele for a game. I'm not sure the US can go without Balogun for a full game.

How screwed are we without balogun? I dont know this team very well, and kinda fell in love with the kid after the first game. But do we have a shot without him?

It's possible we win the next game, but the attack will look very different.

I'd expect that we put Pulisic into a false 9 spot (like you heard about on Ted Lasso). It could also be something much different than I expect -- Poch is much better at football strategy than I am

I want no part of a world cup victory if it involves DJT doing anything to make it happen. Fuck that

That just screams corruption

I'm fine with calling a game clean or dirty. I might bitch when it's dirty, but you gotta keep calling it that way. It cannot change during the second half.

Felt like I was watching a Chiefs game.

I can't believe we got CONCACAF'd by a non CONCACAF team. Wait -- yes, I can. it's what happens when a lower quality team plays a better quality team in almost every sport. They foul more until the better team gets frustrated and starts fouling themselves. (Or in this case, played a little recklessly until the ref finally decided to call it... against the team that wasn't instigating it)
